    Compassionate clean secure affordable care

My loved one lived here and I'm truly grateful - the staff treat residents like family, provide excellent, attentive care, and management is outstanding. The community is clean, secure and affordable with spacious private apartments, a huge covered porch and grounds, 24/7 cameras, a large activity room and strong programming (bingo, Bible study, outings, on-site doctor), and generally chef-level meals and beautiful holiday decor (dining service could use minor tweaks). I highly recommend this facility for worry-free, compassionate long-term care.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with repeated praise for staff, care quality, activities, and value. Reviewers consistently highlight the friendliness and responsiveness of the staff and nurses, noting that caregivers frequently go "above and beyond," provide one-on-one attention, and create a family-like atmosphere. Management is also singled out as attentive and professional; several reviewers explicitly recommend the facility and describe it as offering "the best care possible." Clinical oversight is noted as a specific strength with an on-site physician visiting weekly (Dr. Lee), and reviewers describe assistance with bathing and higher-level care being available when needed.

The facility’s programming and social offerings are another major strength. Multiple reviewers mention a robust schedule of activities — Bingo, Bible study/devotionals, puzzles, outings, cornhole tournaments, picnics, and holiday events — with a dedicated activities director who receives praise. There is a large multi-purpose activity room, daily activity announcements, and holiday decorations that contribute to a lively community atmosphere. The small-community size is seen as a positive by many, enabling more personalized interactions and long-term residency relationships.

Physical facilities are described positively in important ways: apartments are private and spacious with a living room, kitchenette, bedroom, and bathroom; heat pumps and apartment climate control are noted; housekeeping and apartment cleaning are provided; there is an on-site beauty shop; and communal spaces include a large dining room and a huge covered front porch that seats 25–30 with a front rocking-chair area and nice grounds. Cleanliness and security are also emphasized—reviewers mention 24/7 security cameras and an overall clean environment. Meal service is often praised: reviewers note family dining options, meals brought to the table, meal customization, and several descriptions of the food as delicious or chef-level.

Value and affordability stand out as consistent themes. Multiple reviewers state the facility is affordable or the "best price in the area," with several saying it offers quality care at a lower price point. This combination of perceived high-quality caregiving, solid programming, and lower cost is an important reason many recommend Preston Place Suites.

Areas of concern are relatively limited but worth noting. Several reviewers mention that dining and some aspects of meals could be improved—while many praise the food, others say the dining experience or food quality is mixed and could be better. A few comments indicate the facility’s amenities are more basic compared with higher-end communities; reviewers describe it as not being on the same level for amenities. Some people reported an "institutional" feel rather than a fully homey atmosphere, though many others felt it was home-like. Location raises safety concerns for some reviewers: the facility’s convenience to a highway is noted but also described as "not very safe" by some, which suggests potential traffic/noise or neighborhood-safety worries despite the onsite security measures.

In summary, Preston Place Suites is portrayed as a clean, affordable, and well-run community with strong, caring staff, active programming, and private apartment-style living. It appears particularly well suited to families seeking attentive caregiving, individualized attention, and a small-community feel at a reasonable price. Prospective residents and families should take note of the mixed feedback on dining consistency, the somewhat basic amenity level compared to luxury options, and any safety concerns related to the facility’s location when making decisions. Overall, the reviews convey high satisfaction with the people and care, with only a few operational or preference-based drawbacks mentioned.

    About Preston Place Suites

Preston Place Suites sits a few miles from local hospitals, doctors, and rehab centers, so health care's always close by, and this senior community offers both independent and assisted living, so folks who want to stay active and do things on their own can have a maintenance-free life but still get help with daily needs if they want it, and the staff, with nurses on site around the clock, gives attentive care for everyone, from those who need a lot of assistance-like with diabetes care or moving in and out of bed-to people who're mostly independent but want peace of mind just in case. There are several types of rooms, from cozy studios to one-bedroom, semi-private, and two-bedroom suites, and each comes with things like kitchenettes, walk-in closets, and baths with bench seating, and there's even patio and window views to make things homey, plus Wi-Fi and cable at a lower rate. The whole place feels welcoming and home-like, with murals on the walls, vegetable gardens, and raised flower beds where residents who like to garden are welcome, and everyone can enjoy the sunrooms or visit the beauty shop when they're feeling social. A "General Store" helps take care of little shopping needs right on site, and there's always snacks out, colored dishes for folks with low vision, and an in-house chef cooking weekly menus that account for any special diets while still aiming to make meals tasty and comfortable; they offer meal choices, too, so residents can pick what suits them. Group activities happen every day, from gentle yoga and musical performances to arts and crafts, cooking classes, and outings around Kingsport, and there are social programs just for folks with Alzheimer's or dementia, as well as caregiver support groups and even staff training sessions that make it a knowledgeable place for memory care when that's needed. The facility's staff knows how to help with things like transfers from beds to wheelchairs and handle emergencies, and they're available all day and night. The place has a "Little Things" philosophy, so personal care and small comforts matter, and the environment aims to bring a feeling of family, with staff working to make daily life simple but enjoyable. Residents can join fundraisers, like the Annual Ride for Memories Motorcycle Ride and golf tournaments, and the community often reaches out with adult day services and caregiver support. Payment options include private pay, social security, veteran's benefits, and commercial insurance. Fees depend on the level of care needed, whether that's respite or memory care, and cover both community and buy-in options. Altogether, Preston Place Suites focuses on comfort, good food, active days, and a sense of community, without feeling too formal, and tries to make every day a bit brighter for seniors looking for an easy, home-like setting.
