About Family Ministries Retirement & Assisted Living

Family Ministries Retirement & Assisted Living, located in Limestone, Tennessee, offered assisted living and memory care in a quiet spot nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. This small, twenty-suite facility stood out with a welcoming, home-like atmosphere and some of the largest apartments and studio units around, along with private rooms that included air conditioning and cable or satellite TV. Staff members often treated residents with kindness and respect, providing support with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, medication management, and coordinating healthcare needs, plus extra care for those with diabetes or incontinence, all around the clock. Memory care focused on helping seniors with Alzheimer's or other dementias, using safe layouts meant to reduce confusion and prevent wandering.

Meals came restaurant-style in a dining room with big windows and skylights, and options included snacks, guest meals, vegetarian dishes, and food for low-sodium or no-sugar diets, all tailored to special dietary needs. Housekeeping and laundry services helped make life easier, letting residents focus on social events, outings, and full days of activities like art classes, gardening, music nights, movies, stretching, yoga, and gardening. The community included a cozy library with floor-to-ceiling shelves, leather chairs, and game tables, as well as indoor and outdoor common spaces, kitchenettes, a beautician, and devotional services onsite.

Residents could use Wi-Fi throughout the building, enjoy the garden and walking paths, and bring their pets, while transportation made it possible to see nearby spots like Main Street Cafe, Trailblazer Market, and local parks, as well as doctors and pharmacies including Laughlin Hospital and CVS Pharmacy. Staff encouraged independence and built strong friendships among residents, making sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. Emergency alert systems, wheelchair-accessible showers, and secure settings for memory care all added peace of mind. Family Ministries offered all-inclusive rent rates with no surprise fees, a focus on community, and activities to suit many interests, and while no longer operational, it earned respect for years of compassionate, attentive care and dedication to quality of life for every senior who lived there.
