    Warm caring community, minor issues

I moved my mom here and I'm very pleased - the staff are warm, caring and treat residents like family, the place is clean and nicely renovated, and the apartments are comfortable with great views. There are lots of activities and social opportunities, so she made friends quickly. The main downsides I've noticed are inconsistent dining (bland or hit-or-miss meals) and occasional maintenance/wifi or management hiccups. Overall it's a safe, welcoming community with good value - I highly recommend Wellington.

The Wellington at North Richland Hills sits in a two-story, multi-story building where seniors can choose from studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, all with walk-in closets, cable readiness, and full-sized kitchenettes for those who like to cook, and it's worth noting that pets are allowed, which plenty of folks appreciate when they're looking for a place they can call home, and the community has wheelchair access throughout, including wide entryways and accessible showers, making it easier for everyone to get around safely, and there are emergency call buttons in every apartment along with 24-hour staffing, so there's always someone around in case help's ever needed. Residents have transportation services available, both courtesy and scheduled, which goes a long way if someone needs to get to appointments or stores, and if a person likes staying active or engaged, they can use the exercise room, the large activity and game room, enjoy the extensive library, or spend time in garden spaces with raised flower beds, and after that, relax at the on-site beauty parlor. Dining is set up restaurant-style with meals provided, and the staff helps out with housekeeping and laundry, giving folks time for structured social and educational programs or just enjoying time in the open-concept common areas, inside or out. The Wellington offers several types of care, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and special memory care designed for adults with Alzheimer's or dementia, so as a person's needs change, the staff and programs can shift to offer what's needed, and on-site health services cover care from nurses, doctors, homecare, therapy-including physical, occupational, and speech-and even things like podiatrist visits or hospice and respite care. Temporary stay options are available if someone isn't looking for a long-term move. For those who enjoy religious or spiritual activities, there are devotional services both onsite and offsite, and gender-specific accommodations are available for both men and women. Residents can age in place with dignity because the community focuses on giving each person different levels of help depending on what fits them best, and there are special programs and amenities for comfort and wellbeing all throughout The Wellington at North Richland Hills.
