    Compassionate, dependable care for mom

I hired Visiting Angels for my mom and couldn't be more grateful. The caregivers were competent, kind, and dependable - great bedside manner, physically strong for transfers, wonderful companions who read, joked, and took her outside. They filled gaps in care, coordinated hospice when needed, communicated clearly and proactively, and gave our family real peace of mind in her final weeks. I'd hire them again and highly recommend them - A++.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: Reviews of Visiting Angels are overwhelmingly positive, with recurring themes of compassionate, professional, and reliable in-home caregiving. Families consistently report that caregivers provide attentive, patient-centered support that makes their loved ones feel especially cared for and comforted. Many reviewers emphasize that care went beyond basic tasks — caregivers provided companionship, engaged clients in activities, and restored a sense of normalcy and dignity.

Care quality and activities: The reviews describe strong, hands-on assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, oral care (brushing teeth), foot washing, transfers, and getting into bed. Caregivers demonstrated the physical strength and knowledge needed for safe transfers, which clients and families specifically appreciated. Beyond ADLs, caregivers offered meaningful companionship — reading aloud, playing games, joking, visiting, and taking clients outdoors — which reviewers credited with improving mood and helping clients “feel like their old self.” Several reviews highlight compassionate end-of-life support and assistance arranging hospice care, as well as reliable coverage during a patient’s final weeks.

Staff characteristics and relationships: Staff are repeatedly described as kind, warm, and family-like. Reviewers praise bedside manner, tenderness, and the ability of caregivers to form genuine friendships with clients. The team is seen as consistent, popular, and often goes above and beyond normal duties. Multiple comments noted that staff were culturally sensitive and could use Spanish phrases when helpful, which added comfort for Spanish-speaking clients. A few specific caregivers received high praise and career-advancement predictions, signaling strong individual performance and client trust.

Communication and management: Families report excellent communication, proactive outreach, and quick responses from the agency. Reviewers appreciated clear explanations of services, an offered free in-home meeting, and dependable replacement coverage when needed. These administrative strengths contributed significantly to families’ peace of mind and confidence in leaving loved ones in Visiting Angels’ care. Several reviews framed the agency as filling critical gaps in home care, delivering professional support that complemented or supplemented other care arrangements.

Reliability and trust: Reliability is a prominent strength — staff arriving on time, dependable shift coverage, and consistent caregiving were repeatedly cited. Reviewers noted that caregivers provided reassurance and reduced stress for family members through trustworthy, attentive service. The agency’s responsiveness and ability to provide quick, reliable assistance were important factors in high satisfaction levels.

Notable patterns and concerns: The most common concern mentioned was occasional staff turnover, which some families noted as a disruption but typically did not overshadow the overall positive experience. A couple of reviewers mentioned initial hesitation about bringing in outside caregivers, but reported that staff quickly earned their trust through professionalism and warmth. There were no recurring complaints about care quality, safety, or communication; negative comments were limited and infrequent.

What’s not addressed: These summaries are focused exclusively on in-home care interactions and client/caregiver relationships; there is little to no mention of facility-based services, institutional dining, or on-site amenities, which is consistent with Visiting Angels’ model as an in-home care provider.

Bottom line: Visiting Angels receives consistently high marks for compassionate, competent in-home care that addresses both physical needs and emotional well-being. Families value the agency’s professional staff, strong communication, cultural sensitivity, and ability to provide dependable coverage — even in challenging circumstances such as end-of-life care. The primary area for attention is reducing occasional turnover to maximize continuity, but overall reviewers express strong recommendation and gratitude for the level of service provided.

    About Visiting Angels

Visiting Angels is a national, private duty network of home care agencies that helps seniors and adults live safely and comfortably in their own homes, and you know, they do a lot of things, like if someone needs help with bathing, dressing, grooming, medication reminders, or meal preparation, they send out trained and compassionate caregivers called Angels, and those caregivers can help with light housekeeping, laundry, and even errands or grocery shopping, which can take a real load off families who are trying to keep their loved one at home. They tailor every care plan to the needs of the individual, so one senior might have a caregiver who helps just two days a week for company and homemaking help, while another might have someone there around the clock for safety and support, and Visiting Angels really focuses on keeping folks as independent as possible, letting them stick to their own schedule and routines. A lot of families seem to like the flexibility too, so if someone just needs a break, they can get respite care-some coverage to rest up while the Angel looks after things, or if a senior needs memory care for Alzheimer's or Dementia, there are caregivers who've been trained for that sort of specialized care, and they even have transitional care for times when someone's coming home from the hospital. Visiting Angels covers a pretty big range, like companion care for socializing and everyday tasks, personal care for physical support, and they also do end-of-life and palliative care, offering comfort and daily help, and there's a Life Care Navigation™ program that combines different types of support depending on needs, so it's not just one-size-fits-all. There's even a Safe & Steady Fall Prevention Program. The agency doesn't take Medicare and isn't certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, but it runs as a licensed personal care agency in Utah, providing help for seniors and guidance for families, and you'll find that their caregivers-who can be CNAs, LPNs/LVNs, and RNs-are screened, trained, and matched carefully, and there's an online family portal to keep relatives updated. They're set up to work with veterans' benefits, handle live-in care, and support folks dealing with everything from mobility to transportation to meal prep, bathing, eating, incontinence, and even help at doctor appointments, and they stand out mostly because of their focus on comfort, independence, and matching the type of caregiver to what the senior actually needs, whether that's someone who comes by a few times a week or someone who lives in the house full-time, and as a network of independently owned franchises under Living Assistance Services Inc., the directors and staff say they're committed to supporting seniors and their families, never losing sight of the importance of dignity, safety, and staying connected.
