The Avenues Courtyard Assisted Living Community used to be a smaller place with 46 units, and that made it feel pretty intimate because people got to know each other and the staff well, and even though there were different care levels-A, B, and C-folks always had help tailored to what they needed, like in Level A they'd get escorted to meals or given reminders, and Level B had extra help with things like four or five daily tasks, diet and eating support, plus help moving around, and if a person needed it, Level C provided significant assistance with everyday living. Everyone had a handy emergency call system, and there was 24-hour supervision, 12 to 16 hours a day of nursing staff, and regular wellness checks to help folks feel safe, and those who lived there could count on three meals a day, with meals that took special diets into account, along with daily planned activities, group trips, and programs like brain aerobics for dementia and Alzheimer's. Staff were always trained, kind, and knew residents by name, mostly because the place was pretty small and intentionally close-knit, and a registered nurse would help figure out the right level of help through talks with families and residents. Each apartment had either a studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, or private and semi-private rooms, and just about all of them had kitchenettes, private bathrooms, air conditioning, and individual climate controls, and people could bring small pets under 20 pounds. Amenities included a hair salon, fitness room with group classes, garden, outdoor spaces, library, lounges, a computer room with high-speed internet, and a game room, and in the apartments themselves, you'd find cable TV, Wi-Fi, storage, and furnished or barrier-free apartments if you needed one. Housekeeping came each week, with laundry and linen service, and you could even ask for more frequent help in some care levels, and there was always scheduled transportation for appointments, errands, or group outings, so folks didn't have to worry about getting anywhere. The community welcomed independent living, respite care, and even had some services for memory care and assisted living, and what stood out most was how staff took time to listen to each resident's needs with a warm and cheerful attitude, and residents were free to join recreational and creative activities, enjoy the arts, try out fitness programs, and socialize in communal areas that were easy to get around, especially for wheelchair users. The place was known for strong safety features like emergency alert buttons and accessible layouts, and extra services like move-in coordination, a snack café, and concierge meant daily life could be as easygoing as possible, and although the private rooms were said to be a bit simple, the common areas made up for it, with their sunny spaces and activities that made people feel included, respected, and part of a cheerful, active community.
