    Clean modern facility, attentive staff

I feel relieved - my loved one is happy and well cared for in a brand-new, modern, very clean facility with roomy rooms, nice common spaces (gym, salon, courtyard) and high-quality meals. The owners and staff are warm, personable and on-site daily; management has improved under the new director and the team is responsive and attentive. There are activities every day that promote social life, though some programs aren't tailored for visually/hearing-impaired residents and they could use more CNAs at times. Overall great value, smooth move-in, and I highly recommend it.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: Reviews of Twin Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care are strongly positive, with a recurring emphasis on the newness and high quality of the physical environment, the warmth and responsiveness of staff and owners, and a generally high level of resident satisfaction. Across many accounts, families report peace of mind after placement, smooth move-ins, and notable improvements in resident well-being. The property is described repeatedly as brand-new, clean, modern, and well-designed, with large rooms, sizable bathrooms, sunny common areas, and a range of amenities (gym, salon, courtyard, library/TV room, and even a golf simulator). The small size (about 20 rooms) and family-run character contribute to a homey, personalized atmosphere that reviewers consistently praise.

Care quality and staffing: The most prominent strength identified is the caregiving team. Reviewers describe staff as caring, attentive, personable, and knowledgeable. Multiple comments highlight staff members who go above and beyond—sitting with residents during meals, helping with deliveries, accommodating dietary needs, and quickly responding to concerns. Owners and leadership (including the Executive Director) being on-site daily is a frequently mentioned reassurance; these leaders are credited with fast intervention when problems arise and with improving management compared with an earlier period. That said, staffing issues appear as the primary concern: some reviewers report initial staffing shortages and request more certified nursing assistants (CNAs). The phrasing in reviews suggests the home provides high-quality personal attention overall but can be stretched at times, which may impact consistency of care for residents with more complex needs.

Facilities and amenities: The facility itself is a key selling point. Reviewers consistently note the thoughtful design, bright dining and community rooms, roomy private suites, and well-appointed communal spaces. The environment is described as elegant and welcoming (including pleasant building smells and polished common areas). Availability of memory care on-site is a major positive for families seeking continuity of care. Practical perks such as acceptance of Medicare supplement plans, on-site chef, and a salon and gym are also highlighted as enhancing daily life. One specific downside is that resident rooms come without appliances, which some families may see as a limitation when personal comforts or equipment are desired.

Dining and activities: Food and activities receive largely favorable comments but with some variability. Many reviewers praise the on-site chef, describe meals as high quality and delicious, and note accommodations for dietary restrictions (including gluten-free options). A number of families explicitly appreciate three meals a day and meal choices. A minority of reviewers, however, characterize the food as merely "okay" or "not great," indicating some inconsistency in dining perception. Activities are frequent and social opportunities are emphasized—weekly programs, family-involved events, and activities designed to foster friendships. That said, reviewers point out gaps: some activities are not well-suited for residents with visual or hearing impairments, and a few comment that there are periods without stimulating programming during the day. These observations suggest activities are plentiful and meaningful for many residents but could be better adapted for sensory-impaired or higher-dependency residents.

Population suitability and care limits: Multiple reviewers describe Twin Oaks as providing excellent care for typical assisted-living and many memory-care residents, giving families peace of mind and improved resident quality of life. However, at least one reviewer noted challenges when caring for a resident with significant medical complexity (advanced Parkinson's), indicating the community may be less well equipped for highly complex clinical needs or rapidly changing medical conditions. Families considering placement for residents with advanced medical needs should discuss clinical staffing levels, nursing support, and transfer protocols in detail.

Management and ownership: A consistent theme is the positive impact of visible, engaged ownership and responsive management. Several reviewers report management improvements over time and appreciate direct meet-the-owner interactions and daily owner presence. There are mentions of an earlier problematic head manager, but the current leadership and a new manager receive praise for professionalism and friendliness. The hands-on approach from owners and the executive team is repeatedly cited as a differentiator and a reason families feel comfortable recommending Twin Oaks.

Notable patterns and final assessment: In summary, the dominant pattern across reviews is highly favorable—residents and families value the modern facility, attentive staff, personalized, family-like environment, and active management involvement. The facility markets well to those seeking a smaller community with strong social programming and a pleasant physical environment. Primary areas for potential improvement are staffing depth (particularly more CNAs), ensuring activities are accessible to sensory-impaired residents, consistency of dining experience for all tastes, and clarity around capacity to manage complex medical conditions. Prospective families should verify appliance policies for rooms, tour activity offerings during the day, and discuss clinical support for higher-acuity residents. Overall, Twin Oaks is presented as a compassionate, well-run, new assisted living and memory-care community that many reviewers consider a very good value and a loving place for their loved ones.
