    About Terraces

Terraces Retirement Community sits in Shelburne, Vermont, close to medical facilities and local attractions, and the place has a peaceful setting with seven buildings holding fifty-eight one- and two-bedroom apartments for people 55 and older, and these apartments come with full kitchens, washers and dryers, window treatments, and a call system for emergencies, plus smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in each unit for safety, and residents pick from room types like studio, semi-private, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom. The community provides independent living, assisted living, and memory care, including care for Alzheimer's, with services like meals, housekeeping, on-site maintenance, and laundry. Residents can join many activities like arts, crafts, and fitness programs, all meant to help with friendships and keep everyone active, and there's a social and educational calendar for the folks living there with staff available 24 hours a day in case someone needs help moving from the bed to a wheelchair, or needs insulin monitoring, or has another need day or night. The Audubon Building acts as the center with a mail room, crafts room, library, fireplaced living room, exercise room, beauty shop, and a dining room where folks can eat together, plus residents have their own storage if they're in a one-bedroom, and there's shared garden space, professional maintenance for the buildings and grounds, road and walkway upkeep including snow removal, and regular garbage and recycling removal. On top of that, there's transportation to shops and appointments, stair glides on stairs for easier access, pets are allowed with limits, and there's a security alarm used for medical emergencies; active recreational and club programs run throughout the year, and the staff tries to make everyone feel welcome and at home with maintenance-free living and all sorts of support for the different needs people might have as they age. Payment can be made through private pay, insurance, Social Security, or veteran's benefits, and there are some fees like a community fee, respite fee, buy-in fee, and charges for the level of care someone might need. The community's managed by a nonprofit and works to provide basic comforts, safety, and care, with a focus on friendship, enjoyment, and simple routines, so folks feel at home for their retirement years.
