    Sunny clean home; check staff

I toured this lovely, home-like facility and was impressed - sunny, clean rooms, excellent fresh meals, and Stephanie, the owner/caregiver, genuinely goes above and beyond; the place felt peaceful and family-oriented and inspections were positive. I did hear troubling reports from others about staff tensions and unprofessional behavior (which I didn't personally witness), so I recommend visiting, asking direct questions about staffing, and seeing for yourself. Overall a blessing for many families, but do your due diligence.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the review summaries is mixed but leans positive in frequency: multiple summaries emphasize a compassionate, family-oriented, home-like atmosphere where the owner (named Stephanie) is highly involved as a primary caregiver and is viewed as a stable, exceptional leader who often goes above and beyond. Several reviewers describe the environment as clean, sunny, organized and peaceful, note that rooms are clean, and praise the meals—specifically fresh vegetables and fruit. Families report feeling welcomed and encouraged to visit, and inspections have been communicated with positive results. These recurring positive themes portray Maple Point Adult Family Home as a small, well-run facility with strong personal attention and a homelike culture that many relatives find reassuring and beneficial for residents.

Care quality and staff: Many summaries highlight compassionate, caring staff and a close, family-like relationship between staff and residents. The owner being the primary caregiver is repeatedly presented as a strength—reviewers call her exceptional and describe a stable influence on residents' well-being. Comments such as “caring environment,” “sweet spirit,” and that visits were positive and a “blessing for family” suggest staff-resident interactions are warm and attentive in the majority of accounts.

Facilities and operations: Multiple reviews describe the facility as clean, sunny and organized, with clean rooms and an overall peaceful environment. Reviewers also note that the owner and staff appear to run the home well and communicate inspection outcomes, with at least one reviewer explicitly stating they were informed about inspections with positive results. These points reinforce impressions of good housekeeping, pleasant common areas, and a transparent approach to regulatory oversight—at least according to the positive accounts.

Dining and daily care details: Positive summaries emphasize excellent meals including fresh vegetables and fruit, implying attention to nutrition and meal quality. However, there is a directly contradictory allegation in one summary claiming residents were being “fed garbage.” This is a stark inconsistency: most reviewers report good food while one reports severely inadequate food quality. That contradiction is notable and should be explored further by prospective families.

Management and concerning allegations: Alongside many positive reviews there are severe and specific negative allegations in at least one summary: hostile management, cruel staff, employees sleeping on shift, theft, poor hygiene practices (allegedly not using soap), and even an allegation that the owner uses drugs. There is also mention of a “disgruntled employee issue.” These are significant claims that directly conflict with the otherwise favorable accounts. Because they concern resident safety, staff conduct, and management integrity, they cannot be dismissed and represent a major area of risk if substantiated.

Patterns, reconciliation, and next steps: The review set shows a clear pattern of largely positive family-oriented experiences but also contains at least one strongly negative outlier with very serious allegations. Possible explanations include: (a) a single disgruntled reviewer (employee or family member) making unsubstantiated claims; (b) isolated incidents that were corrected and thus not reflected in other, more recent positive reviews; or (c) inconsistent performance where some families experienced excellent care while others had serious problems. Because the negative claims are severe (theft, drug use, neglect), they should prompt verification rather than being ignored.

Recommendation for prospective families: Given the mix of strong positive feedback and a small number of severe allegations, anyone considering Maple Point Adult Family Home should verify details directly. Suggested checks include asking the provider about staffing levels and staff training, requesting recent inspection reports and complaint history from the licensing authority, seeking references from current families, visiting unannounced to observe staff-resident interactions and meal quality, and confirming policies for medication management, background checks, and incident reporting. The positive reviews suggest the facility can provide a warm, home-like setting with highly involved ownership, but the serious negative allegations warrant careful due diligence before making a placement decision.

About Maple Point Adult Family Home

Maple Point Adult Family Home sits by the lake in Bonney Lake, in a custom-built house that feels like a lodge and has space for up to six residents, and you'll find it has semi-private living quarters and studio units, with large closets and heated floors, plus a master suite with its own private bathroom and two suites that share big bathrooms, so residents can pick between private or shared rooms, all fitted for older adults including those with limited mobility, and the walk-in showers and bathtubs make bathing easier. The facility helps people who have Alzheimer's disease, memory loss, or mental health needs, and the staff knows how to support folks with Parkinson's, diabetes, trouble moving around, or those who need help with the toilet, bathing, getting dressed, or getting in and out of bed, and they manage medication for things like insulin shots and other needs. You'll find help with daily chores like housekeeping, laundry, home upkeep, and meals, as the staff cooks three daily meals and can adjust menus for medical or religious needs, with options for vegetarians or kosher diets.

The house has emergency buttons in place and security features, including locked grounds and 24-hour staff, with a nurse on hand for health issues, and there's always someone there if residents need assistance, especially for memory care and to stop wandering. Residents have access to a private park by the water and large balconies looking over the lake, plus landscaped walking paths for those who like being outside. The home welcomes family gatherings, social events, holiday parties, and hosts things like movie nights, music, animal therapy, art, tabletop games, and fitness programs, so people don't get bored. There's a beauty salon, a mobile barber, massage therapy, and suites with oversized closets, and you get basic utilities, visitor parking, and transportation help for trips to appointments, shopping, or religious services, though some services come at a cost.

Licensing comes from the state of Washington under #751077, with beds for five or six, depending on the setup, but Maple Point doesn't take Medicaid or Medicare unless there's a special certification, so it's a private pay residence. The staff can help with high-acuity care and provides transfer assistance, continence management, special therapies for memory care, and they do their best to preserve each resident's dignity and independence while helping with all sorts of daily tasks. The house was purposely built for older adults to feel comfortable, safe, and respected, offering a mix of health support, board and care services, as well as respite care for short stays-so it suits folks who need a little or a lot of help, in a quiet lakeside setting with a family touch.
