    Clean, homey care with compassion

I couldn't be more grateful - my mom is happy, comfortable, and well cared for in a beautiful, super-clean, homey place with a peaceful deck and wonderful home-cooked meals. The owner and a hardworking, family-like staff provide compassionate, hands-on, multidisciplinary care (PeaceHealth Home Care & Hospice available), communicate regularly, respect privacy, and supported dignified end-of-life care. We feel secure and connected; I highly recommend it for calm residents - not ideal for loud or temperamental people.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews for Camas Hills Care Home are overwhelmingly positive, with consistent praise for compassionate, personalized care delivered in a clean, home-like setting. Reviewers repeatedly describe a trusting, family-like atmosphere where residents feel comfortable, secure, and well cared for. Multiple families emphasize that residents are happy, relaxed, and thriving (including weight gain and improved appearance), and many explicitly highly recommend the home.

Care quality and clinical support: Reviews highlight hands-on, high-quality caregiving tailored to residents’ individual needs. Caregivers are described as skilled, gentle, kind, and attentive; staff reportedly know the residents’ needs and provide daily personal care that preserves dignity. Several reviewers specifically note good dementia care and dignified end-of-life support, and outside hospice services (PeaceHealth Home Care and Hospice) were used and appreciated. The presence of a multidisciplinary team and availability of hospice indicate a capacity to manage complex or progressive care needs with compassion and clinical oversight.

Staff and management: Staff performance and character are a dominant theme. Caregivers and owners receive frequent praise for friendliness, compassion, integrity, and commitment. The owners are noted to be hands-on — visiting, bringing gifts, and being accessible — which reinforces trust and family confidence. Reviewers emphasize that staff behavior fosters a sense of community and security. There is also a noted faith foundation: the home is described as Christian-based but not overt; reviewers observed strong personal faith among workers, contributing positively to trust and the caring environment.

Communication and family involvement: Communication with families is consistently praised. Reviewers mention regular updates, helpful suggestions from staff, and the use of photos and chat messages to keep families connected. This sustained communication helped families feel secure and informed about their loved ones’ day-to-day life and health, and contributed to high satisfaction and gratitude toward the staff.

Facilities and atmosphere: The physical environment is repeatedly described as beautiful, very clean, and homey rather than institutional. Highlights include a peaceful deck with a view, comfortable common areas where residents socialize, and a general sense that the house is neat and well-maintained. Privacy is respected while still fostering social interaction, which many families appreciated.

Dining and daily life: Food quality emerges as a standout strength. Multiple reviewers call attention to excellent, home-cooked meals — in several places reviewers say it is the "best food" — and note that residents enjoy the meals. Meals are associated with improved wellbeing (for example, weight gain), enjoyment of daily life, and family satisfaction.

Notable limitations and resident fit: The only explicit concern mentioned across the reviews is that the home may not be suitable for loud or temperamental residents. This suggests the environment favors calm, social, and cooperative residents who do well in a smaller, quieter, family-style setting rather than highly active or disruptive individuals. Other reviewers mention the home’s subtle Christian ethos; while described as not overt, potential residents or families who prefer a strictly secular environment should consider that faith-based values are part of the culture (though reviewers framed this positively).

Patterns and final assessment: Taken together, the reviews depict Camas Hills Care Home as a small-scale, values-driven facility that emphasizes personal relationships, high-touch caregiving, and a comfortable domestic environment. Strengths include excellent food, strong family communication, skilled dementia and hospice care, and a caring, integrity-driven staff and ownership. The main suitability caveat is resident temperament: the home is best for residents who prefer and thrive in a calm, family-like setting. Overall, the pattern of comments points to a consistently high level of satisfaction and strong recommendations from families who experienced the care there.

    About Camas Hills Care Home

Camas Hills Care Home sits in a quiet part of Camas, WA, surrounded by tall Northwest pines and peaceful views from the deck, and it's a place that's easy to settle into since the house only has six big private suites, each with its own bathroom, which folks really like for privacy and comfort, and the open living layout with vaulted ceilings and skylights lets in lots of light. The home offers assisted living, memory care, respite, and hospice care for adults who want to age in place, and they can take care of light, medium, or very heavy needs, including those with Alzheimer's or dementia, and they've even got staff with specific training to help people who might have mental health concerns or behavioral symptoms-there are even Romanian-speaking staff on hand for those who prefer. Nurses are on site, and an on-call doctor is ready in case there's an emergency, while caregivers stay with residents around the clock to help with bathing, grooming, transferring, toileting, medication, and reminders for daily routines.

Residents can get help with all the basics like diabetes care with monitoring and insulin, or managing mobility and incontinence, and the team knows how to use one-person, two-person, or even mechanical lift transfers if that's needed. Housekeeping and laundry keep the place clean, and the staff can cook up home-style meals with lots of diet options-vegetarian, kosher, gluten-free, low sodium, and more-and snacks are available, too, which everyone appreciates. You'll find a beautician on staff, wheelchair accessible showers, and enough parking for residents who drive and space for visitors with transport, and pets can come, too. For social and spiritual needs, residents join in on daily checks, structured activities, indoor and outdoor games, and even offsite or onsite devotional services, with special programs meant for those with memory issues to keep people active and help with friendship and bonding.

The home's secure environment helps keep memory care residents safe and supported, and the small size makes communication easier, with staff talking regularly to families about care. The outdoor gazebo and seating areas offer fresh air, and there are common areas inside for TV, reading, or social meals. Seniors here get individualized care plans and reminders for medication or events, and there's always something to do-clubs, events, social dining, and activities aimed at keeping minds sharp. Camas Hills Care Home stays licensed and staffed by professionals with over 30 years of experience, which reassures families who want steady attention and a focus on comfort as needs change through the years.

All in all, the setting is peaceful and homelike with space for seniors to feel comfortable, stay engaged, eat well, and enjoy a safe, friendly spot while getting the care they need.
