    Warm staff, secure, active community

I'm very happy here - the staff are warm, kind and devoted, and the building and grounds are beautifully maintained and secure. My apartment is a good size with a living room, kitchen and bedroom; meals are fantastic in a cozy dining room. Included services (weekly linens/towels, bedding changes, daily trash pickup), on-site salon and physical therapy, proximity to medical care, and a vibrant activity schedule make daily life easy and fun. It's a nonprofit, Christian, affordable community I'd recommend - only downsides: activities were limited by COVID and the cable is missing major sports channels.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for Colonial Residence at Stillwaters is strongly positive. Reviewers repeatedly emphasize the compassionate, attentive nature of the staff and the high level of hands-on care residents receive. Multiple comments call out staff warmth, patience, and dedication to residents’ well-being; in at least one review a staff member by name (Alicia) was singled out for providing excellent care. Residents and visitors describe the environment as home-like and loving, with staff satisfaction and resident happiness noted repeatedly.

The physical campus and apartments receive consistent praise. Reviews highlight beautifully maintained grounds and landscaping, a striking and large building, and interior spaces that are clean, well-furnished, and comfortable. Apartment layouts that include a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom are mentioned as roomy and appropriate for independent or assisted living arrangements. The community is noted as secure and gated, which contributes to a quiet, safe atmosphere. Several practical service details surfaced positively: weekly sheet and towel washing, weekly bedding changes, and daily garbage pickup are appreciated extras that point to attentive operations and housekeeping.

Dining and on-site services are another clear strength. The dining room is described as cozy, and the meals are repeatedly praised as fantastic and delicious. The facility also offers useful on-site services like a beauty salon and a physical therapist, and reviewers specifically mention these amenities as adding convenience and value. The community’s nonprofit status and proximity to medical facilities were cited as important practical advantages, and some reviewers called the residence a "hidden gem" for the combination of quality and affordability.

Activities and community life are generally viewed as lively and engaging. Several reviews note a vibrant schedule with a large variety of activities and events (examples include social tournaments). The overall tone is one of a welcoming, Christian-oriented community where residents feel included and enjoy organized events. That said, multiple reviewers noted that activities were curtailed or limited during COVID, which reduced choices temporarily. This theme suggests that while programming is normally robust, it can be vulnerable to public-health restrictions.

Notable patterns and concerns are relatively minor compared with the overall positive feedback but worth mentioning. Entertainment options via television are limited; several reviewers called out reliance on basic cable and the absence of key sports channels such as ESPN, PAC-12, and the Golf Channel. A few comments referenced dementia onset among residents: while staff are praised as kind and patient, these notes imply an ongoing or increasing need for specialized memory-care resources for some residents. There is also mention of nearby development — a new road and new homes being built — which may signal future changes in traffic or noise that residents are watching.

In summary, Colonial Residence at Stillwaters comes across as a well-run, compassionate, and attractive senior living community. Strengths are particularly concentrated in staff quality, cleanliness, safety, dining, convenient on-site services, and an active community life. The primary drawbacks are limited media/sports-channel options, temporary reductions in activities during COVID, and an implied need for continued attention to memory-care needs as resident health profiles evolve. Overall, reviewers strongly recommend the community, noting it as a comfortable, secure, and value-oriented option with many thoughtful operational details that support resident well-being.
