    Compassionate Clean Personalized Dementia Care

I placed my mom at Golden Age Retirement Home - a spotless, bright six-resident home with a warm, family-like atmosphere and a private rear deck. The staff, especially Alina and Bogdan, were attentive, compassionate and dementia-aware, handling challenging behaviors professionally and supporting us through her final days. Daily homemade organic meals served family-style, regular activities (exercise, arts & crafts, weekly live music), access to PT/OT/speech and primary-care visits, plus daily laundry/cleaning and strict COVID protocols gave us real peace of mind. I highly recommend Golden Age for respectful, individualized, top-notch care.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews present a uniformly positive picture of The Golden Age Retirement Home LLC. Reviewers repeatedly highlight exceptional, compassionate and professional caregiving delivered in a small, bright, immaculately clean setting. Across multiple summaries there is consistent praise for individualized attention, respectful treatment of residents, and excellent communication with families. Many reviewers explicitly state strong recommendations and praise specific staff members by name.

Care quality and staff: The dominant theme is high-quality, person-centered care. Reviewers describe staff as extraordinarily patient, loving, thoughtful, and professional. Care is portrayed as respectful and dignity-preserving, with several notes that the team handles difficult residents well and provides reliable support during residents’ final days. Dementia-aware care is mentioned explicitly, indicating staff experience with cognitive impairment. Specific staff members (e.g., Alina and Bogdan) are named in positive contexts, reinforcing a perception of dedicated leadership and hands-on caregiving.

Facilities and cleanliness: The facility is consistently described as hygienically clean, immaculate, bright and cheery. Daily cleaning routines and daily laundry service are emphasized, which contributes to the perception of a well-kept environment. The home’s small scale (room for six residents) is mentioned frequently; reviewers view this as contributing to a family-like, welcoming atmosphere and highly individualized care. The private large rear deck and outdoor visiting options are repeatedly praised as valuable amenities that support safe visitation and fresh-air access.

Dining and household services: Dining receives strong positive mention: homemade, nutritious (even organic) meals tailored to resident preferences, and communal meal times are highlighted as positive social experiences. The home provides daily laundry and ongoing household cleaning, reinforcing the impression of attentive daily care. One operational detail noted in multiple reviews is shared dining (no individual kitchens), which many reviewers find appropriate for the home’s model and social atmosphere.

Activities and therapies: Reviewers appreciate a range of social and recreational programming, including weekly activities, live music, arts and crafts, exercise, and access to cable/streaming entertainment. Clinical supports are also available: reviewers note access to in-home primary care and rehabilitative services (PT/OT/speech therapy), which suggests good coordination of medical and therapeutic needs without requiring frequent transfers to outside facilities.

Management, communication and safety: Management and administrative aspects are portrayed positively: reviewers call the home well-managed, cite timely and effective communication, and note adherence to COVID safety protocols. Open visitation hours and the ability for visitors to use the outdoor deck are specifically praised, indicating family inclusion is a priority. The combination of proactive communication and visible safety practices contributes to repeated statements of “peace of mind” from family members.

Notable patterns and potential limitations: The primary limitation apparent from the reviews is the facility’s intentionally small size (capacity for about six residents). While most reviewers present this as a strength—producing a family-like atmosphere and individualized care—it may be a practical constraint for families seeking a facility with greater capacity, broader social networks, or more extensive on-site amenities. Another recurring operational characteristic is communal dining (no individual kitchens), which suits many residents who enjoy shared meals but could be less desirable for individuals who prioritize private in-room meal preparation. No substantive negative reports about staff responsiveness, cleanliness, or care quality appear in the summaries provided.

Bottom line: Reviewers portray The Golden Age Retirement Home LLC as a small, well-managed, and highly personalized care setting with exemplary staff, outstanding cleanliness, nutritious home-cooked meals, engaging activities, and strong family communication. The chief trade-off implied by the summaries is scale—its small capacity and communal dining model may not match every family's preferences—but for those seeking individualized attention, dementia-aware care, and a warm, family-friendly environment, the reviews indicate the home is strongly recommended.

About THE GOLDEN AGE RETIREMENT HOME LLC

THE GOLDEN AGE RETIREMENT HOME LLC offers several types of senior care in their licensed Adult Family Home in Bellevue, WA, at 12971 SE 23rd St, Edmonds, WA, 98005, with a total of 6 licensed beds, so the care stays personal and more home-like, which is good for folks who want a quiet place that feels like a real home instead of a big institution, and it provides long-term care often at a lower price than larger nursing homes, though Medicare isn't accepted since this facility isn't certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Seniors can pick from independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and even board and care options, letting them age in place and adjust their level of care as their needs change, so if one starts with independent living and later needs more help, that person wouldn't have to move away. The place supports people living with dementia, including Alzheimer's, with specialized memory care programs, a secure environment, 24-hour staff support, memory activities, and personalized daily plans to keep routines calm and safe, and when families need a break, there's also respite care available for temporary stays. Residents can find different living arrangements, such as private or shared rooms, suite or studio layouts, and the home covers basic care services like help with bathing and dressing, medication reminders, meal prep, and daily housekeeping. There are therapeutic and graded activities planned for all, and the goal's to help everyone stay as independent and comfortable as possible, no matter how much help they need. The community is part of a larger group that includes familiar names like Aljoya Mercer Island, Aljoya Thornton Place, Cascade Park Gardens, The Gardens at Town Square, and many others around Issaquah and Seattle, and these offer everything from maintenance-free living and social gatherings for independent seniors, to round-the-clock medical care, rehab, and wound care for those with medical needs. The facility isn't fancy, but it does try to keep up with modern, professionally decorated interiors and provides plenty of adaptive care based on what each resident wants and needs, so seniors can settle in and know their comfort and dignity come first, whether they want lively community activities or a quiet place to enjoy each day, and the smaller number of residents makes it easier to really get to know staff and fellow residents too.
