    Friendly active community with caveats

I'm very positive about this small, clean 54-unit community - bright, apartment-style studios with in-unit kitchens, accessible bathrooms, a courtyard/backyard, and walkable access to downtown. The staff are warm, friendly and caring (Rachel was especially helpful); they know residents' names and there are lots of activities - bus outings, pool and game rooms, live music, library, weekly socials, and even in-room amenities like a keyboard and headphones. The food is great with varied options, meal customization and in-room dining available. Post-COVID activities have resumed and residents seemed happy and social. My concerns are some staff turnover, occasional communication lapses and sporadic inattentiveness around dietary/care needs (and a nonworking Jacuzzi), so I'd recommend it with qualifications - excellent for an active, social lifestyle but monitor consistency of care and communication.

    About White River Assisted Living

White River Assisted Living sits in Enumclaw, Washington, nestled in the foothills near Mount Rainier, and it stands directly across from St. Elizabeth Hospital, making hospital visits easy when needed, and it's also close to shopping and the senior center, which helps with errands and outings. The community offers both assisted living and memory care, with 54 studio and one-bedroom apartments split between the locations on Jensen Street for assisted living and Cole Street for memory care. Residents get support with daily activities in a safe and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are dedicated and well-liked, often described as feeling like family, and they provide care 24 hours a day. Nurses and a doctor are on call, and residents get personalized help that fits their needs, whether for medication reminders, hospice care, Parkinson's care, or more general support, and there's also physical, occupational, and speech therapy available.

Living here means easy access to indoor and outdoor common spaces like the library, game room, beauty salon, fitness center, wellness room, and walking paths that wind through gardens and a patio with mountain views that a lot of the rooms have as well, and you'll see people enjoying activities like movie nights, arts and crafts, puzzles and games, group exercise, and outings to places like ice cream shops or for scenic drives. The dining room looks out over the patio and serves meals, including kosher and vegetarian options, or you can order room service. Residents can join group activities or simply enjoy a quiet afternoon reading by the fire in common areas with comfortable seating or maybe play pool or Connect Four. The memory care area has a secure and cozy feel, with studio apartments, activity tables, and soft carpeting, plus an area with a mural of the mountains.

White River Assisted Living allows pets if residents can care for them, provides transportation for shopping and doctor appointments, and holds many in-house social and religious events as well as offsite trips. They welcome both men and women and provide support for veterans through VA aid. The building is no smoking, and apartments have kitchenettes, Wi-Fi, cable TV, and emergency call systems. Staff take care of laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance, and residents can use guest parking or arrange for guests to stay overnight. You won't find fancy claims here, but many people seem to appreciate the staff, the views of Mount Rainier, and the friendly, home-like atmosphere, and the community gets a strong rating of 8.9 out of 10 on Seniorly. The facility operates month-to-month without long leases, and it accepts Medicaid and insurance. The team strives to keep life engaging and peaceful, tailoring care to each resident's needs.
