    Exceptional care, attentive staff, peaceful

I chose this home for my parent and have been very pleased - the owner is exceptional and passionate, staff are attentive, respectful and empathetic, and the place is spotless with spacious private rooms, great food, peaceful golf-course views and lovely outdoor spaces. Care is compassionate and good value (buy-down option available), but ask up front about a hidden nurse/delegation fee and clarify visiting hours. Overall I highly recommend it - residents are happy and the staff genuinely care.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive. Multiple summaries highlight an owner who is both caring and deeply involved — described as empathetic, passionate, and exceptional — and reviewers frequently say they would highly recommend the home. There is a clear pattern of satisfaction with the quality of care provided: residents are portrayed as comfortable and engaged, staff are described repeatedly as attentive, respectful, and caring, and the general atmosphere is described as positive, with residents laughing and enjoying themselves.

Care quality and staff performance are the most consistently praised aspects. Reviews emphasize attentive caregivers and staff who show compassion and respect. The owner is mentioned specifically as an elder-care professional, which reinforces perceptions of knowledgeable, hands-on management. Several mentions of “very good care,” “attentive care,” and “staff caring” indicate that day-to-day personal care needs are being met reliably. The social environment is also noted — staff engagement contributes to a positive mood among residents, suggesting both adequate staffing and a focus on resident well-being beyond basic care tasks.

Facilities, cleanliness, and setting receive strong positive comments. The home is described as very clean, well-kept, and beautiful; private rooms are noted as spacious. Externally, reviewers mention a quiet, safe, and well-manicured neighborhood with golf-course views and usable outdoor space. These consistent observations point to a facility that is both physically comfortable and located in a pleasant environment, which can significantly enhance resident quality of life.

Dining and daily life impressions are favorable as well: multiple reviewers call the food great, and the overall mood described (residents laughing and having a good time) implies that meal times and social activities contribute to resident satisfaction. While reviews do not detail a formal activities program, the noted social atmosphere and engaged staff suggest opportunities for interaction and companionship.

The main area of concern across the summaries relates to cost transparency and visiting policies. Several reviews mention a buydown option and overall value for money, but others raise issues about a “hidden nurse fee” or additional nursing delegation costs/fees. These comments indicate that some charges related to nursing tasks or delegated medical services were not clearly understood or disclosed to all reviewers. Additionally, reviewers call out a need for clarification around visiting hours. These are practical points to verify with management: ask for a written breakdown of all possible fees (including nursing delegation or agency fees), and obtain a clear visiting policy so expectations are aligned before move-in.

In summary, the reviews paint Twin Lake Adult Family Home as a well-run, clean, and peaceful facility with a warm, engaged staff and an owner who is both compassionate and hands-on. Strengths include high-quality personal care, a positive social environment, attractive surroundings with golf-course views, spacious rooms, and good food. The principal caveats are about financial transparency around nursing-related fees and clarity on visiting hours. Prospective residents and families should be reassured by the consistently positive care and environment but should request explicit, written information on all fees and visiting policies to avoid unexpected charges or misunderstandings.
