    Small family atmosphere, excellent care

I placed my husband here and am very pleased - the staff are kind, attentive, and accommodating, the care is excellent, the small three-resident, family atmosphere is clean and welcoming with fresh flowers, and the food is enjoyable. Rooms are small and billing/Medicare timing may not suit everyone, but I would recommend this place.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive. Multiple reviewers emphasize a family-like atmosphere and repeatedly describe staff as friendly, kind, and accommodating. Comments such as "family atmosphere," "friendly and kindness," and "accommodating staff" appear frequently, and several reviewers explicitly say they would recommend the facility. There are multiple direct statements that the care provided is excellent or good, and at least one reviewer notes that their husband is happy and enjoys the food. One reviewer sums up the experience as positive with no complaints about the facility.

Care quality and staff: The clearest and most consistent theme is the high regard for staff and the quality of care. Reviews use words like "excellent care," "good staff care," and "positive staff," indicating that caregivers are attentive and meet residents' needs. The staff are described as both kind and accommodating, suggesting responsiveness to individual resident preferences and situations. Several reviewers remark that residents are relatively or explicitly happy, which supports the conclusion that clinical and day-to-day caregiving meet family expectations.

Facilities and environment: Reviewers describe the physical environment as clean and welcoming, with one specific mention of fresh flowers contributing to a pleasant atmosphere. The facility's small size (noted as three residents in one summary) reinforces the family-like feel and likely allows for more individualized attention. However, the small size also relates to other observations (see "fit" below). One reviewer explicitly states there are "no complaints about facility," indicating generally satisfactory physical conditions.

Dining and resident satisfaction: Dining receives positive mention: at least one reviewer states the husband "enjoys the food," and other comments about happy residents align with satisfactory meal service. While reviews do not give extensive detail about menus or special dietary accommodations, the existing comments imply that meals are adequate and appreciated by residents.

Size, fit, and room space: The facility's small scale is a double-edged theme. Many reviewers list small size as a positive, because it supports a family atmosphere and close staff-resident relationships. Yet there are concrete indications that the setting may not suit everyone: one review explicitly says "not a good fit," and another notes a "small room." These points suggest that prospective families should consider whether the limited space and very small community meet their relative's preferences for privacy, space, or social variety.

Management/administration and notable concerns: The reviews are largely positive about day-to-day operations, but there is a specific administrative complaint about "Medicare timing." One reviewer is "unhappy about Medicare timing," which points to a potential issue with billing, benefit coordination, or administrative scheduling. This is the clearest negative administrative theme in the summaries and would be worth clarifying with the facility before placement.

Patterns and recommendations: The dominant pattern is satisfaction: friendly staff, good care, clean environment, and positive dining experiences. The most repeated strengths are interpersonal (staff kindness and accommodation) and the intimate, family-like environment. The main concerns to weigh are physical room size and whether the very small resident population is a good personal fit for a particular resident, plus the isolated report about Medicare timing. Prospective residents and families should visit to assess room dimensions and to discuss administrative procedures (including Medicare timing) to ensure compatibility with expectations. Overall, Blessing Elderly Care appears to provide attentive, affectionate care in a clean, small-scale setting that many families find highly satisfactory, with a few practical caveats to verify during a tour or intake conversation.

    About Blessing Elderly Care

Blessing Elderly Care sits in Kent, Washington, and the place mainly focuses on elderly residents, providing all sorts of care, including for folks with memory problems like dementia and Alzheimer's or those who need extra help due to development disabilities or mental health. You'll find that every room at Blessing Elderly Care is private, clean, with its own TV, cable, and even internet included in the price, so folks don't have to pay extra for things like that, and the bathrooms are either full tubs or wheelchair-accessible showers which you don't see everywhere, and there's always a nurse on staff and a doctor available when needed. The building itself is fully accessible for wheelchairs and has common indoor and outdoor areas, including a deck and a sidewalk around the house, and there's a wheelchair van for taking folks out when needed, plus they offer complimentary transportation and parking.

The care here really fits what older people need, with standby and assisted transfers, including one-person and two-person transfers or even mechanical lifts, and residents can age in place without having to move when their needs change, so folks dealing with mobility issues or more advanced care needs don't have to worry about changing facilities. There's always someone from staff present, 24 hours a day, and for those who might wander because of memory issues, residents wear alarm bracelets and the property is secured and has a purpose-built, secured area for memory care, which helps families worry less. Devotional services, both onsite and offsite, are regularly offered, and Blessing Elderly Care also has programs for behavioral care and general counseling, which helps cover all sorts of problems older people may have beyond medical care.

Meals here are homemade and included, with snacks, and special diets like vegan, no salt, low or no sugar are all taken care of, and residents can eat anytime, in private or with others, so you get flexibility, and for people who need insulin shots or other medicines you're all covered since staff are trained for this too. There's a beautician who comes by, and hospice and respite care are available, which not all places provide. There are activities to do both inside and outside, so folks don't just sit in a room all day, and the environment is family-operated and has been run by a wife and husband since 2006, making it feel more like a home, especially with pets allowed-cats and dogs can move in as long as residents can care for them-and the couple won the Best Adult Family Home award in 2013 and 2018.

Prices range for direct dementia and Alzheimer's care clients from $4,000 to $4,500 and for other clients from $3,500 to $4,000, with referral agency clients a bit higher, so families know upfront what they'll be paying, and everything like medication help, activities, meals, and housekeeping is included in that cost. Folks can come visit between 9 am and 8 pm, and Blessing Elderly Care has a profile that can be verified with DSHS, which helps with trust. There's profile management for updates and resources about Medicare and senior living to help with questions. If someone's looking for a place that's consistent, offers specialized programs for elderly care and dementia, keeps people active, and keeps families in the loop, Blessing Elderly Care would be among the options worth considering.
