About Marry Joy Adult Family Home

Marry Joy Adult Family Home, also called COLE ADULT FAMILY HOME and Forest Cottage AFH, sits at 14609 Meadow Rd, Lynnwood, WA, 98087, in a quiet neighborhood near Millcreek Swedish Hospital, and offers care for up to six adults in a single-family home setting where folks get the help they need with daily living, like bathing, dressing, and medication management, and there's always a registered nurse around because the owners themselves are nurses and EMT caregivers, which gives families some peace of mind knowing there's skilled help day and night. The home serves both long-term and short-term stays, with respite care if a loved one needs a break from their usual routine or a place to recover, and they can handle more complex needs like wound care, diabetic support, brain injury care, trach care, stroke and cardiac care, and even end-of-life care, for those last weeks. Staff help residents who use walkers or wheelchairs and guide them with a steady caregiver-to-resident ratio of one to two, so folks aren't left waiting.

Meals come three times a day, planned by a nutritionist, and snacks fill in the gaps between, with accommodations for special diets like kosher meals or other requests, and you'll find meal times are friendly and unrushed, like a family would have at home. Private rooms give everyone their own space, and rooms come with cable TV, phone, air conditioning, WiFi, and views of gardens or scenery, and the whole place is designed to feel safe and comfortable, with secure fencing for those who might wander and a generator for power outages, plus a sprinkler and alarm system for emergencies. The activity director keeps things going, with outings in the facility van, games like bingo and cards, group meals, birthday parties, exercise classes, music and aromatherapy, cooking activities, holiday get-togethers, storytime, movies, and even visits from church or to the nearby library, so there's always something to do both inside and outside, and whenever there's a need, they can bring in therapy like physical, occupational, or speech right to the site.

Residents can also get their hair, nails, and dental hygiene taken care of on site and enjoy outings on the private bus, plus regular visits from doctors, nurse practitioners, and therapists, and there's easy access to pharmacy services with medications delivered to the door by a pharmacy team who keep careful digital records. The staff help with all personal care and housekeeping, from laundry to keeping the rooms clean, and the house has features for fall prevention, health monitoring for diabetes, blood pressure, or stroke risk, and even offers support for those using ventilators or on dialysis. Technology here means families can view charts online if they have power of attorney, and caregivers use electronic records to avoid mistakes.

The home operates daily from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, has been open since March 30, 2024, and keeps to strict ethical standards, with all the needed state licensing for adult family home and assisted living care, though it doesn't take Medicare unless the resident has a separate certification. Reviews give the place high marks for care, staff, and the building itself, and most visitors seem happy with meals, activities, and the overall setting, and though pets can visit, no animals live at the home full time. For folks looking for comfort, safety, medical support, and a close-knit setting near Lynnwood, Marry Joy Adult Family Home stands as a real, reliable choice for adult care.
