    Compassionate attentive family-style memory care

I moved my mom here and have been very pleased - the facility is bright, clean, and home-like with pretty grounds and regular activities that keep residents engaged. The staff are compassionate, attentive, and communicative (special thanks to Justin Navarro and Melanie Burton), and move-in and visitor check-in were smooth. Nurses and aides go above and beyond, and my family felt supported and informed throughout. I'd recommend this warm, family-style memory care to others.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression Reviews present a divided but informative picture. Many families describe Riverview Manor as a small, home-like assisted living and memory-care community with consistently warm interpersonal care. Commonly cited strengths include a clean, bright building, well-kept grounds and gardens, and private apartments with large bathrooms and walk-in showers. Several reviewers emphasized the facility’s affordability and assistance during move-in, and named individual staff and leaders as compassionate, dependable, and attentive.

Care quality and staff Care quality is the most frequently praised dimension: reviewers commonly use terms such as compassionate, patient, respectful and dedicated when describing caregivers and frontline aides. Multiple accounts identify specific staff members and managers for going above and beyond, and families note regular hygiene assistance, help with dressing, coordination with physicians, and proactive arrangements for mobility aids and physical therapy. At the same time, a consistent pattern of concerns suggests variable performance across shifts: families cited episodes of delayed assistance, wound-care and incontinence-care issues, and instances where staffing shortages appeared to affect care continuity.

Dining and activities Food and programming receive generally positive mentions, with some families praising meals and others noting limited commentary. The activity program is described as family-oriented and social — bingo, trivia, karaoke and group events are recurring examples — and the activities director is frequently commended for fostering community and resident engagement. However, activity delivery appears inconsistent for some residents, and a few reviewers recommended broader or more frequent programming.

Facilities and environment Physical impressions are largely favorable: bright rooms with windows, pleasant outdoor spaces, and well-groomed grounds are recurring positives. Several reviewers described apartments as comfortable and quaint. Conversely, a number of comments call out areas that need updating (including brighter lighting) and raise sanitation and pest-control concerns. There are also isolated accounts of utility interruptions that affected basic services; these underscore the importance of asking about maintenance and contingency plans during a tour.

Management and oversight Leadership receives both high praise and notable criticism. Many reviewers describe hands-on, communicative owners and managers who establish a family-like culture and maintain strong personal relationships with residents. In contrast, some families expressed substantive concerns about management responsiveness, conduct, and follow-through; a few accounts referenced regulatory complaints or external investigations. These divergent views suggest that experiences can vary by household and by time period, and that prospective families should inquire about recent quality metrics, complaint resolution processes, and staffing stability.

Notable patterns and guidance for families Two patterns stand out: (1) a clear strength in personalized, relationship-based caregiving that many families find comforting and effective; and (2) operational inconsistencies — particularly around staffing levels, sanitation/pest-control management, and occasional service interruptions — that have produced serious complaints in a minority of accounts. For families considering Riverview Manor, recommended questions to ask on a visit include current staffing ratios and turnover, pest-control and sanitation protocols, recent regulatory or complaint history and how issues were resolved, examples of activity schedules, and contingency plans for utilities and staffing shortages. A direct tour and conversations with multiple families currently in residence will help validate whether the facility’s strengths align with your priorities and whether management has addressed the operational concerns noted by others.
