    Kind staff strong activities affordable

I'm very satisfied with this community - staff are kind and helpful, the full-time activities director posts a monthly schedule with 2-3 activities daily and runs a strong program, and I enjoy the food. It's not fancy and AC is mainly in the hallways, but it's reasonably priced and a good fit for me.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews present a mixed picture: the community receives consistent praise for its social programming, approachable staff, and value, while also generating serious operational concerns related to clinical oversight and incident handling.

Care quality is an area of divided feedback. On the positive side, residents and families note satisfactory day-to-day support and generally acceptable meals. However, there are also significant concerns about clinical processes — specifically wound and pressure-injury prevention practices and medication-management controls. One review describes an alleged medication-related overdose that resulted in an emergency transfer; other accounts describe transfers to acute care where families felt notification and communication were delayed. The combination of these accounts suggests uneven clinical oversight and opportunities for stronger quality-assurance systems.

Staff interactions are cited as a clear strength. Multiple comments emphasize that staff are kind, outgoing, and helpful, and that day-to-day interactions feel warm and resident-focused. At the same time, reviewers indicate that positive staff demeanor does not always translate into consistent clinical practice, implying a need for clearer training, supervision, and protocols to align frontline behavior with safe clinical care.

Activities and dining are notable strengths. The facility maintains a full-time activities director, publishes a monthly schedule, and offers two to three activities daily — features that families and residents frequently praise for keeping people engaged. Dining receives generally favorable remarks; several reviewers say they enjoy the food or find it acceptable. Combined with the facility’s affordable pricing, these elements contribute to the community’s appeal for people prioritizing social engagement and cost-effectiveness.

Facility and management observations are pragmatic. The building is described as functional rather than upscale; one operational limitation specifically cited is that air conditioning is present in hallways but not consistently in resident rooms. More importantly, reviewers point to management and leadership inconsistency and note that the provider has undergone corrective training and regulatory attention, which may indicate prior gaps in policy adherence or oversight.

Taken together, the pattern suggests that prospective residents and families should weigh the strong social programming, approachable staff, and affordability against documented concerns around clinical oversight, medication controls, and incident communication. Recommended next steps before a placement include touring resident rooms to assess climate control and cleanliness, reviewing the facility’s recent regulatory survey history, asking about staffing levels and training protocols for wound care and medication administration, and confirming the facility’s policies for family notification after incidents.

    About Rosebrooke Assisted Living

Rosebrooke Assisted Living sits at 550 West Liberty Street in Adams, Wisconsin, and is a community where people get help with daily living while still having a sense of home, and you'll find that the staff keep things friendly and helpful around here, which feels comforting if you're not able to live on your own but don't need a full nursing facility either, and residents get care that fits their changing needs, so if someone needs help with things like bathing, dressing, or taking medicine, the team provides support and makes sure dignity and quality of life come first. There's assisted living and memory care programs to help with Alzheimer's or other kinds of dementia, and the community has a mental wellness program too, so there's always someone keeping an eye on residents' health and happiness, and if someone's main caregiver at home needs a break, there's respite care on a short-term basis as well. You'll find activities every day-some planned by the community, others run by residents themselves, and the activity director comes up with things like art classes, field trips, guest meals, music in the common areas, and even chances to enjoy the garden or read in the small library, and there's a beauty salon right inside so you don't have to go far for a haircut, plus there's transportation and parking for outings. The dining is restaurant-style, and they offer meals that can fit special diets, like for diabetes, gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, no salt, no sugar, and kosher, and there's guest meals too, so family or friends can join. The rooms come fully furnished and have kitchenettes, Wi-Fi, cable TV, telephone services, and they're accessible with wheelchair-friendly showers, plus housekeeping and linen services mean folks don't have to worry about cleaning or laundry. The building has several spaces to gather, like meeting rooms, piano and TV lounge areas, indoor common rooms, and garden spots, so there's always somewhere to relax or visit with others. There's 24-hour supervision, a call system in place, and care workers available for medication, diabetic care, incontinence care, or help with moving around, which brings peace of mind to residents and their families. Rosebrooke Senior Living is part of the Wisconsin Assisted Living Association and follows their standards, with a team that tries hard to make life safe, comfortable, and engaging as each person needs change.
