      Caring staff, affordable, management concerns

I've had my mother here for five years and overall we're satisfied. The owners are registered nurses and gracious; the staff are professional, qualified and truly caring - they communicate quickly when my mother is sick and really went the extra mile to keep her out of a nursing home. The place is lovely, rooms are simple and efficient, and it's affordable, but meals can lack freshness, activities are few, and a nearby road is noisy. My main caution: there's been management turnover and a lack of disclosure since a recent takeover (several residents moved out), so ask for references and fee transparency before committing.

      Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is mixed but leans strongly positive on the hands-on caregiving and clinical oversight, while raising several operational and amenity concerns. Multiple reviewers emphasize the quality of care: staff are described as professional, qualified, diligent and caring. The ownership and leadership are repeatedly called out as strengths — owners are registered nurses, one owner is described as gracious and personally involved — and reviewers specifically noted swift communication when residents were ill or had accidents. Several comments highlighted that staff went the extra mile to keep a resident out of a nursing home, and one reviewer reported five years of satisfaction, all pointing to consistent, reassuring day-to-day care and positive resident experiences.

Facility and room-related comments present a generally favorable, practical picture: reviewers described the home as lovely, with efficient room sizes and simple, homelike amenities. These aspects seem to support residents who value a straightforward, comfortable living environment rather than resort-style features. However, the location and environment have drawbacks for some—there is at least one mention of a noisy road nearby, which could affect sleep or comfort for noise-sensitive residents.

Dining and activities emerge as weaker areas. Multiple reviewers noted a lack of activities and limited social programming, which may be a concern for families seeking an active engagement schedule for their loved ones. Dining received specific criticism: meals were described as lacking freshness, which suggests kitchen or food-sourcing issues that may impact resident satisfaction and nutrition. These themes point to potential gaps in lifestyle and enrichment services compared with the facility's strengths in clinical care.

Administrative and management issues are a notable pattern of concern. Reviewers reported residents moving out since a facility takeover and raised management turnover and stability problems. There were also complaints about lack of disclosure and that references are requested, which some reviewers viewed negatively. These items indicate possible communication and transparency shortfalls at the administrative level and a period of transition that has unsettled some families and residents.

Affordability impressions are mixed: while several reviewers praised the facility as affordable, others raised affordability concerns or explicitly said they would not recommend the facility. This suggests variation in individual circumstances or expectations about cost versus services received. In sum, the strongest and most consistent positives are the caregiving quality and RN ownership; the key negatives are managerial stability, transparency, limited activities, and dining quality. Prospective residents and families who prioritize clinically strong, attentive, nurse-led care may find Choice Care - Floyd a good fit, but those who prioritize robust activities, fresher meals, stable management or quieter surroundings should investigate those areas closely before deciding.

Choice Care - Floyd sits on C S Floyd Road in Loganville, Georgia, and provides care for up to six senior residents, focusing especially on people living with Alzheimer's and other types of dementia, and it's a Georgia-licensed personal care home run by a family with professional healthcare experience. Residents here get 24-hour support, with trained care staff who help with just about everything a person might need during the day and night, and, because the owners are hands-on, things tend to run carefully, with attention to updating families and doctors about how folks are doing.

The place feels small and homey, offering shared and private accommodations, like studio or one-bedroom units, and there are emergency buttons, keypad entry for safety, common rooms for group activities, and rooms with TVs for relaxing. Meals come prepared daily with special diets and nutritious menus considered, and there's a pretty active daily schedule which might include arts and crafts, gardening, board games, reading, music therapy, and sometimes devotional or spiritual gatherings, while others enjoy time in the game room or just relaxing in the shared kitchen or big dining area.

Residents can get help with bathing, toileting, dressing, moving around, manual feeding if it's needed, plus routine tasks like laundry and housekeeping, and there's pharmacy delivery for medicines, medication management as part of daily care, and medical appointments can be scheduled as needed, sometimes with nurse practitioners who visit the home if someone's health requires it. There are transportation services offered for a fee, letting folks get to off-site events or visits, and off-site salon services are available for those who'd like them.

The community doesn't aim for lots of extras or fancy features but keeps focused on quality care and attentive service, and reviews mention the superior and caring staff. The small size means people get to know each other and staff can adjust support to fit each person's changing needs, whether that's more social involvement, extra therapy, or just a gentle routine. Choice Care - Floyd keeps its environment warm and supportive, aiming to help residents stay as independent and comfortable as possible, and while it may not have big crowds or lots of flash, the strength here lies in dedicated and thoughtful caregiving.
