      Spotless bright homelike attentive care

I was immediately impressed - the place is spotless, bright, home-like, and smells clean. Evelyn and the staff are friendly, attentive, communicative, and available to talk; meals are cooked from scratch and the grounds are very well kept. I'm confident in choosing this facility for my mother-in-law, very happy with the care, and would highly recommend it.

      Summary of reviews

The reviews for Mighty Hearts Home Care present a mixed picture. Many families describe a clean, bright, home-like environment with well-maintained interiors and a welcoming first impression. At the same time, other visitors raised sanitation and odor concerns and described conditions that did not match prior positive impressions. This pattern suggests variability in the resident experience that prospective families should probe when evaluating the community.

Care quality and staff behavior are described in polarized terms. Positive feedback highlights patient, attentive caregivers who communicate well with families and allow flexible visitation; those experiences include consistent reassurance that loved ones are well cared for. Conversely, some accounts describe variable staff responsiveness and a lack of attentiveness at certain times. Together these statements indicate staff performance may fluctuate by shift or leadership influence, rather than reflecting a single consistent standard.

Dining receives similar mixed commentary. Several reviewers praised home-style, scratch-cooked meals and reasonable pricing. Others reported occasions when meals were minimal or served cold, and described simple alternatives such as cereal or sandwiches. These contrasting observations point to inconsistent meal preparation or service continuity rather than an absolute absence of cooked meals; families should ask about menu rotation, staffing in the kitchen, and meal-temperature/service protocols.

Comments about facilities emphasize strengths (spotless interiors, bright common areas, hardwood floors, and a home-like décor) but also note sanitation and odor inconsistencies. Recreational activities are not frequently detailed in the reviews; instead, reviewers referenced staff–resident interactions and the facility atmosphere as indicators of daily engagement. Where reviewers observed attentive staff and cheerful residents, the social environment was described positively; where staff appeared less engaged, families expressed concerns about residents’ emotional well-being and a reduced sense of safety.

Management and operational issues are recurring themes behind several negative observations. Reviewers described unclear leadership arrangements, sometimes involving individuals who were not formal employees and uneven follow-up with prospective families after visits. There were also references to limited oversight of non-staff activity on-site. These operational traits correlate with the reported inconsistencies in cleanliness, meal service, and staff responsiveness. Prospective families may wish to clarify leadership structure, staff credentials, and policies for visitors/non-staff during a visit.

Notable patterns: opinions are polarized—some families report strong satisfaction and recommend the facility, while others advise caution and recommend seeking alternatives. This suggests that quality may depend on timing, staffing patterns, or recent management changes. For decision-making, families should schedule multiple visits at different times, ask for references from current families, request written policies on meals, staffing ratios, visitor oversight, and follow-up procedures, and observe cleanliness and resident engagement across shifts. Doing so will help determine whether the facility’s strengths are consistent with a prospective resident’s needs.

      About Mighty Hearts Home Care

Mighty Hearts Home Care is a residential care home for seniors at 1005 Highway 52 East in Portland, Tennessee, and the place has a simple, smaller home setting where caregivers and residents really get to know each other, which means everyone can get more personal attention and care. The staff is present 24 hours a day and helps with everyday activities like dressing, bathing, and medication management, and there's always a nurse available for checking on things and managing health, so families feel a bit less worried. Seniors here get three home-cooked meals daily, made by chefs and meal planners, that try to match different diets, and there are other amenities like fitness centers, lounge areas, and Wi-Fi for keeping in touch with people online. Residents can use transportation for outings like going to doctor appointments, shopping, or church, and there are social activities planned, so folks aren't just sitting around. The facility handles laundry and cleaning, too. The setting is homelike with community spaces and a family feel, and there're programs for memory care and diabetic care as well. Mighty Hearts Home Care also has a connection to other shared neighborhood homes in the area-with names like Grace Place, Elite Elderly Care, Margaret's House, and others-with each one offering some special touches, for example, Grace Place has a cozy space and home-cooked meals from a garden, and some homes are close to parks. Reviews for the different homes range from 4.0 to 5.0 stars, and the overall service rating stands at 4.6 stars based on over three thousand reviews. Families can get a free consultation and someone will help find options based on where they are, how urgent the situation is, and who needs care, with advice from local Elder Care Advisors. Mighty Hearts Home Care and its network cover several senior living needs, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and there's support for those who need help but also want their independence, as seen at places like Lewis Manor Personal Care Home and Highland Rim Terrace for low income retirement. Some homes, like Elite Elderly Care, are smaller with only six private rooms but have staff present at all times. There's a focus on dignity, companionship, and keeping everyone engaged, whether at Mighty Hearts or in their wider network of homes, with options to take a tour and meet people before making a choice. Pricing requires direct inquiry, since costs aren't published. Business hours run from 8AM to 9PM during the week and shorter hours on weekends.
