    Great start, neglectful, terrible finish

I moved my mother-in-law into Silverstone and at first I was very happy - efficient, well-organized, spotless facility with pleasant smells, knowledgeable, loving and attentive staff who provided 24/7 care and engaging activities; I felt grateful and safe. Unfortunately, as her needs increased the care deteriorated: supplies went unused, help came only when convenient, there was a urine-soaked incident and a confrontation with the owner, and we were ultimately kicked out. Great start and wonderful people initially, but a neglectful, terrible finish.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across these reviews is mixed but leans strongly positive in volume and detail, with recurring praise for the caregiving team, cleanliness, organization, and resident comfort. Many reviewers describe attentive, loving caregivers who provide 24/7 support, create a safe environment, and engage residents with outings and activities. The facility itself is repeatedly characterized as clean, spotless, pleasantly scented, large and well laid out, and well organized — attributes that contribute to long-term resident satisfaction and multiple strong recommendations.

Care quality and staff themes: The dominant theme in most reviews is high-quality, compassionate care. Reviewers use language such as "loving care," "attentive caregivers," "comprehensive attention," and "felt safe in home." Staff are described as professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly, and several comments highlight that residents were happy, comfortable, and well-loved. Some families express gratitude for being able to work side-by-side with staff and note that the facility's team handles residents' daily lives thoroughly. Positive accounts often emphasize both emotional support and practical competence, creating a consistent picture of strong day-to-day caregiving for many residents.

Facilities, cleanliness, and activities: Physical features and daily operations receive positive attention: rooms and the home are frequently mentioned as clean, well-organized, and spotless. Reviewers note a pleasant smell and general tidiness. Activities and outings are also cited as meaningful parts of residents' experiences, with engaging programming and comprehensive attention to residents' lives. However, an explicit limitation appears around outdoor space: multiple reviewers note a lack of greenery, lawn, or trees, which may matter to families seeking outdoor environments or garden-like settings.

Negative reports and notable concerns: Despite the numerous positive reviews, there are serious negative reports that create a sharp contrast. A recurring concern is inconsistency in care — in particular, one or more reviewers report that initial friendliness and cleanliness gave way to neglect as a resident's needs increased. Specific allegations include staff not helping when needs escalated, supplies remaining unused, care being provided only when convenient, and a severe incident involving a urine-soaked situation. That same account describes an owner confrontation and an eviction or being "kicked out," which signals possible management conflict or problematic escalation in response to complaints. These are serious red flags: while they may represent isolated incidents, they point to potential issues with how the facility manages higher-acuity residents, handles supply usage, or resolves family concerns.

Patterns and recommendations for prospective families: The reviews suggest a facility that, for many residents, delivers excellent, loving, and organized care in a clean environment with active programming. At the same time, the negative accounts highlight inconsistency and management-related problems that could significantly affect some residents, especially those whose needs increase over time. Prospective families should treat the overwhelmingly positive feedback as encouraging but should also probe the negative reports. Recommended topics for inquiry during a visit or discussion include: staffing ratios and how they change with resident acuity; documented care plans and follow-up for escalating needs; incident reporting and resolution procedures; how supplies are tracked and used; policies related to behavioral issues and evictions; and whether outdoor spaces meet your expectations. Also ask to speak with current families or long-term residents to verify consistency of care over time.

Conclusion: In summary, Silverstone AFH appears to provide compassionate, well-organized, and clean care for many residents, earning strong praise for staff and daily life. However, the presence of at least one detailed negative experience involving neglect and a management confrontation means families should perform careful due diligence, focusing on how the facility manages increasing care needs and how it addresses complaints. Balancing the mostly positive testimonials with the serious concerns will give the clearest picture of whether this home fits a particular resident's long-term needs.
