    Caring staff, clean, highly recommended

I moved my mom in today and already feel relieved - the staff are genuinely caring, attentive and skilled, the rehab team is excellent, and the place is spotlessly clean. Staff treat residents like family, frequent check-ins bring peace of mind, and her mood/health have noticeably improved. The building is older, rooms are small, meals and activities are sometimes hit-or-miss, and there have been recent price increases and occasional slow responses to call buttons. Overall I'm very pleased and would highly recommend.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is predominantly positive about the people-side of care while revealing notable variability and some serious concerns. The most consistent praise centers on staffing: many reviewers describe the staff as caring, attentive, professional, and family-like. Multiple reviewers singled out nurses and therapists for exceptional and even lifesaving care; specific staff names were cited positively. There are repeated mentions of a high staff-to-resident ratio, frequent check-ins, and staff who are easy to find and responsive in many cases. The rehab and therapy teams (OT/PT) are frequently praised for motivation and positive outcomes, and the facility offers on-site primary care and regular health updates to families, which many families valued highly.

Facility and environment receive mixed but often favorable comments. Numerous reviews describe the building as clean, bright, and well-maintained, with spotlessly cleaned rooms and well-tended plants. Common areas, outdoor seating, a courtyard, screened-in porch, piano/TV rooms, and a bird sanctuary or pleasant outdoor spaces are frequently appreciated and contribute to residents' quality of life. However, the physical plant itself is described as older and somewhat dated in many accounts; rooms are sometimes characterized as small. A small number of reviewers reported unsanitary conditions or dirty rooms, indicating inconsistency in housekeeping across shifts or units.

Dining is an area of clear divergence. Several reviews praise the food and call it excellent, while many others describe it as horrible or not modern, and say dietary requests are not always honored. A few families reported needing to bring external food for their loved ones. This polarity suggests that meal quality or service consistency varies by day, shift, or individual dietary needs, and that nutritional satisfaction is a recurring pain point for some residents and families.

Activities and social engagement are generally recognized as a strength, with an active activities director and organized programming that includes live music and social games. Multiple reviewers appreciated an upbeat activities team and personable staff. Still, there are repeated requests for more variety and more engaging outings—field trips, more live music, and additional entertainment—which indicates opportunity to expand or diversify the activities calendar to better meet resident expectations.

Management and administration produce strong mixed impressions. Several reviews praise the facility and recommend it highly, but others raise concerns about recent ownership changes, rate increases (including at least one report of a $500/day increase for a private room), and lack of family consultation or clear explanation for those increases. A small but important subset of reviews document poor experiences with administration, including an alleged rude administrator, refusal or inability to provide tours because of no beds available, and inconsistent admissions handling. There are also mentions of bed shortages at times.

Most concerning are the reports alleging serious care lapses: unresponsive staff, ignored call buttons, delays in assistance, and at least one report of a choking incident where the resident was not helped. There are also allegations of neglect and poor treatment of a veteran. While these appear in fewer reviews than the positive comments, they are severe and should be treated as potential safety issues that warrant investigation by management. The overall picture is one of generally competent, caring staff delivering good rehabilitation and compassionate care in many cases, but with variability that sometimes crosses into serious safety and service failures.

In summary, prospective residents and families can expect a facility with many strengths centered on compassionate staff, strong rehab services, and pleasant communal and outdoor spaces. Important caveats include an older building with smaller rooms, inconsistent dining experiences, occasional lapses in service or cleanliness, and some alarming reports of neglect or unresponsiveness. Management and billing transparency (rate increases, communication around ownership changes) emerged as frequent concerns. If considering this facility, visitors should (1) speak directly about food/dietary handling and sample meals when possible, (2) ask about staffing levels and overnight/shift coverage, (3) request clarity on current rates and any planned increases, and (4) observe cleanliness, response times to call bells, and activity offerings during multiple times of day to get a sense of consistency. Additionally, families should ask management how serious incidents are handled and what safeguards are in place to prevent neglect and ensure resident safety.

Residents live in well-kept private suites with their own bathrooms and walk-in showers, and the place has roomy common areas, a living room, dining room, sun porch, activities room, and pretty gardens outside where people can sit together. There's a focus on whole-person care-nurses help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, medication management, and special diets, and there are thorough safety systems like emergency call pendants, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and a fire sprinkler system. The community is always staffed, with nurses, caregivers, therapists, a medical director, and even chaplains for spiritual care, so folks who need more help, whether it's for memory loss or rehab after surgery, get the right attention, and the team also includes visiting professional stylists and nail care services, which a lot of people appreciate.

The community pays attention to details, with crown molding, central air, and housekeeping and maintenance to keep things pleasant, so no one has to worry about chores, and residents have access to three daily home-cooked meals, snacks, laundry, pharmacy deliveries, and transportation if needed, which makes day-to-day life easier. The facility is pet-friendly, so people can have animal friends, and everyone can take part in planned activities like art classes, Bible study, yoga, music therapy, Sunday movies, and even community service, which helps folks stay connected. There are outings, group fitness, and live music, plus a photo gallery that shows daily life in the place, and both resident and family councils encourage people to voice opinions and help guide decisions. The staff helps with mail, companionship, and even special care for Alzheimer's, and the team works hard to make sure people with different health problems, from strokes to diabetes, get their needs met, including therapy for speech or breathing and specialized clinical programs.

Senior Living consistently gets top inspection scores, such as an A+ rating and awards like Top Nursing Home in Georgia, and it's an Eden Alternative® certified place, meaning the goal is to make things feel less like an institution and more like a home. They accept Medicare and Medicaid and help people with payment options, including VA benefits and long-term care insurance, so families can figure out what works for them. Residents can pick independent living, apartments, townhomes, or care homes, and there are flexible services-from one-hour visits up to 24-hour live-in help-covering everything from skilled nursing, home care, and medication management to social support for lonely folks, and there are special technologies such as medical alert systems, best walk-in tubs, fraud protection, and internet and cable plans made for seniors.

The connection with FLOWER JAZZ is unique, with access to upscale arrangements like "HAVE A SUNNY DAY!" or "TUTTI FRUITTI," along with gift baskets and plants for all seasons, so families can send thoughtful flowers to residents or hospitals like Nursing Center or Northside Hospital, as long as guidelines are followed. The place stays open all the time, with caring staff who listen, laugh, and help create a friendly setting, and the community's been serving families since 1997, so there's experience here. For many, there's comfort in knowing there are skilled professionals, nice outdoor spaces, fun activities, spiritual care, help with insurance, and thoughtful touches, all meant to help older adults stay safe, engaged, and to enjoy each day as it comes.
