    Clean social accessible structured community

I visited once and had a good time - the place felt like a 5-star, well-kept apartment-like community: clean hallways, nice rooms, housekeepers, physical therapy room, common areas, small libraries and a 24/7 pool. Staff were helpful, dining was sociable and tidy (meals are billed separately and seating is often assigned), and the facility is highly accessible with a wheelchair bus, close to a hospital, Walmart and restaurants. It's structured and strict (mandatory rent/meals, locked doors, after-hours guest limits, alcohol rules), allows agency care and pets with management approval.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is generally positive about the physical condition, staffing, and social aspects of Eagles Manor, with repeated praise for cleanliness, accessibility, and available services. Multiple reviewers described the property as well kept, odor-free, and in some ways a step above a typical apartment complex. The facility is often characterized as having an apartment-like setting with common areas, seating nooks, small libraries, clean hallways, and a pool. Its proximity to a hospital, Walmart, and restaurants was highlighted as a practical advantage, and reviewers noted that the campus is highly accessible for residents and visitors.

Care quality and staffing are presented as strengths. Reviewers noted 24/7 staff coverage, on-site housekeepers, and a physical therapy room, suggesting both daily support and rehabilitative services are available. The facility is reported to allow agency care when needed, which indicates flexibility to accommodate outside caregivers or specialized care plans. The combination of round-the-clock staff and available therapy resources gives the impression of dependable basic care and support for residents with varying needs.

Facility amenities and layout receive frequent positive mention. Apartment-style units, clean dining rooms, sociable communal dining, and multiple common spaces contribute to a residential, social atmosphere. There are practical transportation options, including a wheelchair-accessible bus, and recreational options such as a pool. Reviewers pointed out that some parts of the building or dining area are not as fancy as other areas, but the overall maintenance and housekeeping standards were consistently praised. One reviewer explicitly rated the facility highly (five-star), reinforcing the generally favorable view of physical facilities.

Dining and cost-related themes are mixed. On the positive side, the dining room is described as clean and sociable, indicating meals are a central social time for residents. On the negative side, there are multiple comments about mandatory rent and meal requirements, as well as meals being charged separately, which raises concerns about additional or bundled costs that prospective residents should clarify. Assigned seating in the dining room was mentioned and may be perceived as limiting resident choice and autonomy. Some reviewers also felt parts of the dining area or building were less upscale than expected.

Management style and rules are a recurring theme and represent a trade-off depending on resident preferences. The facility is described as structured with strict rules, including after-hours guest restrictions and assigned dining seating. Locked doors and controlled entry are emphasized as security measures, which some reviewers appreciate; however, locked doors and the mention of a perceived risk of robbery were also listed as concerns. Alcohol restrictions for residents were noted as another rule that could be restricting for some prospective residents. Pet policies exist and allow animals with management approval, which is a benefit, though it subjects pet ownership to administrative discretion.

Activities and atmosphere were described in varied ways. Dining is sociable, there are seating areas and small libraries for quiet activities, and reviewers noted outside tours and occasional social events. One reviewer mentioned nearby neighborhood nightlife and live events such as boxing at a local bar and said they had a good time on their visit, suggesting the location offers entertainment options if residents or their guests are interested. The overall impression is of a community that supports social interaction but also enforces structure and rules that may limit spontaneity.

In summary, Eagles Manor appears well suited for residents who prioritize cleanliness, on-site support, rehabilitation access, social dining, and proximity to medical and retail amenities. The facility’s strong maintenance, round-the-clock staffing, and array of common spaces and transport options are clear strengths. Potential residents should weigh these positives against the facility’s strict rules, mandatory meal/fee structures, assigned dining seating, after-hours guest restrictions, and some concerns about building quality in certain areas. Prospective residents and families would benefit from asking explicit questions about meal pricing and billing, guest and pet policies, security protocols related to locked access and the reported robbery concern, and the flexibility of care arrangements before deciding.

    About Eagles Manor

Eagles Manor sits close to six hospitals, 19 doctors, and eight pharmacies, so medical help is always nearby, and folks living there can get plenty of healthcare when they need it, plus there's a special diabetic care program where staff monitor blood sugar and prepare the right food, and if someone needs more help, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care are available too, along with incontinence care and physical therapy, so residents have choices as their needs change. The place is made up of three buildings-Penkay Eagles Manor (PEM), Eagles Manor II (EM2), and Eagles Manor III (EM3)-all connected by common spaces, and they look like big apartment complexes but offer cleaner, more comfortable, and well-kept surroundings than most, including common areas, inside and out, where you'll see people socializing, using the small libraries, or just resting in cozy seating areas.

The apartments are studios or one-bedrooms, most with full kitchens in EM3, and all properties are for folks who are at least 62 years old or have a disability, with rents set on a sliding scale based on income and medical expenses, mostly between $415 and $976, and in EM2 there's project-based Section 8 help for lower income households, and tenant-based vouchers are welcome in PEM and encouraged across the community, and "over-income" apartments exist too for those who exceed normal limits, so a range of people can live here. Utilities are included except for phone, internet, and cable, and you do have to pay for meals, with a monthly charge around $180 to $199 per resident, delivering daily made-to-order meals right to each door in PEM and EM2, while EM3 has optional meal plans but includes full kitchens with dishwashers, and there are washer/dryer hookups, or you can lease a set for $20 a month if you like, as long as appliances are under five years old and meet Energy Star standards, which is handy.

Dining takes place in a clean, sociable room that never smells bad, and there are plenty of places to socialize like indoor common areas, a library, a computer room, and different seating spots, plus six cafes either on site or right nearby, so most people find somewhere to chat. If something fun is in order, there's a theater for shows, scheduled social events, activities like yoga and stretching, and trips to parks outside, and the community sits close to 40 restaurants with all sorts of food, ten places of worship for spiritual needs, and several parks for fresh air. People with pets can bring small animals-dogs or cats under 25 pounds with a $300 deposit or birds for $50-spreading the deposit out over time, and it comes back when you move out.

Transportation's covered pretty well, with a wheelchair-accessible bus available, general rides for outings and appointments, and four additional options close by, and outdoor tours or activities are set up for folks even if they use a wheelchair. Housekeepers take care of cleaning, there's laundry service, and there's a 24-hour emergency call system plus help always on hand, which means people stay safe and comfortable. Wellness and fitness programs bring people together, off-site devotional services are regular, and you'll find scheduled events to keep things lively and help residents feel connected.

Applications need age or disability proof, background and landlord checks, and paperwork like social security cards and IDs, and the screening process usually takes one to four weeks. Eagles Manor is known for being well-managed, clean, and friendly, with a culture of kindness among staff and residents alike, and with its location near care, restaurants, worship, and outdoor spaces, it's a practical choice for seniors who want independence, support, and a welcoming community without having to worry about extra costs or fuss.
