    Caring community with excellent amenities

I moved into this Life Plan community and I'm very pleased - the staff are caring and attentive, the residents are friendly, and there's a real sense of family. The campus is beautiful, spotless and well-maintained, with independent apartments and cottages plus excellent assisted-living and nursing care when needed. Dining is delicious with multiple options, and activities (piano concerts, movie nights, pool/exercise, gardens, woodworking, outings) keep people active and engaged. It's centrally located and top-notch, though pricey and not the right fit for everyone - personally, no regrets.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The Huntington at Nashua receives overwhelmingly positive feedback across these reviews, with repeated praise for its staff, facilities, programming, and continuum of care. Many reviewers describe the community as beautiful, well-maintained, and bright — often newly upgraded — and consistently note cleanliness and strong management. The dominant impression is of a first-rate, upscale Life Plan community that provides a broad range of services and amenities alongside a warm, social atmosphere.

Care quality and continuum of services: Reviewers frequently highlight that The Huntington is an "exceptional Life Plan community," noting the availability of independent living apartments and cottages plus assisted living and nursing wings. Several comments express reassurance about health care availability and describe positive family experiences with the clinical aspects of the community. The presence of on-site nursing and assisted living options is framed as a major advantage, providing peace of mind for residents and families who value a seamless transition of care as needs change.

Staff and management: The staff is repeatedly described as friendly, caring, attentive, accommodating, and enthusiastic. Many reviews single out both front‑line caregivers and maintenance personnel for praise, and management is characterized as fantastic and welcoming. These consistent remarks about staff quality reinforce reviewers' sense of safety, care, and community. A small number of comments temper this with observations that tours can feel staged ("staff showing you around on their best behavior"), but this is a minor theme compared with the predominant praise for staff warmth and competence.

Facilities and environment: Physical amenities earn strong positive marks. Reviewers cite an attractive, bright interior with pastel colors and a homey feel rather than a "dark and dingy" look. Notable amenities include a lap pool with a current for exercise (with specific praise for perfect temperature and hot tub ambiance), woodworking room, exercise room, well-kept gardens, and added plants that enhance pool ambiance. Upscale apartments and cottages, restaurant-style dining rooms (including special birthday rooms), and well-maintained common spaces contribute to a resort-like atmosphere that many reviewers consider top-of-the-line.

Dining and food: Dining is another consistently positive theme. Multiple reviewers describe the food as "delicious" with several dining options and praise specific meals like lunch. The availability of restaurant-style dining and celebratory spaces (birthday room) underscores an elevated dining experience. Some reviewers explicitly call the food "pretty darn good," and combined with reports of variety and quality, dining appears to be a strong selling point.

Activities, enrichment, and social life: The Huntington is described as socially vibrant, with a mix of active and passive programming meeting a range of interests. Examples named in the reviews include movie nights, live piano concerts, field trips, book discussions, community gardens, life enrichment programs, volunteer opportunities, and fitness-focused offerings that keep residents challenged. The social fabric is emphasized: residents check on one another, create a "one big family" vibe, and generally remain active, healthy, and engaged. This combination of programming and peer culture is cited repeatedly as a reason residents are happy and have no regrets moving in.

Value, cost, and accessibility concerns: While many reviewers feel the community represents good value for the breadth of amenities and the continuum of care, cost is the most frequently mentioned drawback. Several comments call the community "very expensive" or "top of the line," and others describe it as unaffordable. High entry standards are also noted; while some see this as a benefit that preserves community quality, others view it as a barrier. There is an observed tension in the reviews between perceived excellent value (when amenities are factored in) and sticker shock for prospective residents on tighter budgets.

Other notable patterns and minor concerns: A few reviewers note limited green space and that the city-center location may not suit those seeking a rural or heavily landscaped setting. Some visitors felt their short visits or tour experiences were influenced by COVID restrictions or by staged presentations. A minority of reviewers suggested the community might feel "overly certified" or not the right fit for every personality. However, these comments are secondary to the prevailing themes of strong staff, extensive amenities, and a warm community.

Conclusion: In summary, The Huntington at Nashua is consistently portrayed as a high-quality, well-managed Life Plan community with outstanding staff, abundant amenities, and a lively social environment. Strengths include comprehensive care options, varied programming, strong dining, excellent maintenance, and an engaged resident community. The main considerations for prospective residents are cost, limited outdoor/green space depending on preference, and fit — whether one prefers a city-center, upscale environment versus a more rural or budget-conscious option. Overall, reviews indicate high satisfaction among residents and families, making it an attractive choice for those who can accommodate the price and who value an active, supportive senior living community.

    About The Huntington At Nashua

The Huntington At Nashua offers apartments and cottages for people age 62 and older, where you'll find both quiet spaces and plenty of activity if you want it, and the grounds have paved parking, garage and carport options, and even green vehicle charging stations, so residents with cars or those expecting visitors don't have to worry much about where to park, and the buildings are all set up for wheelchair access so everyone can get around, while pets are welcome and there are paths and courtyards that make walks with a pet simple. People use common areas like the community center, fitness room, indoor pool, library, bistro/cafe, sewing room, woodworking shop, crafts rooms, and a movie theater, and there are both indoor and outdoor spaces-like landscaped gardens and private patios or courtyards for ground-level homes-where residents can sit, host guests, or garden, with some seasonal water features that make the views nice. Houses and apartments all come with private bathrooms, kitchenettes or full kitchens with things like a microwave, refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and garbage disposal, and units have safety bars in showers and tubs, individually controlled heating and cooling, and high-speed internet and cable TV. Some cottages and many apartments open right into a green space, and there are plenty of floor plans to choose from, with safety systems and 24-hour response services if someone needs help.

Meals get served in two main dining rooms with both restaurant-style and all-day dining, and there's a private dining room for special events with family or visitors, while the chef and kitchen team do a good job handling diabetic diets, vegetarian, gluten-free, kosher, and low sodium options, and guests can join at mealtimes. Housekeeping, laundry, dry cleaning, and building maintenance are included, so people don't have to keep up with home repairs or chores, and scheduled transportation in a bus, van, or car gets residents to appointments, shopping, or activities nearby. The Huntington keeps a steady calendar of classes and programs, movie nights, arts, fitness, and hobby groups, with two full-time Activities Coordinators who help organize activities and events, and many residents like the Life Enrichment program for social and cultural programs.

For health needs, The Huntington At Nashua follows a Life Care retirement model, so independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing services all happen on the same campus, and options like medication management, daily activity assistance, bathing, transfers, incontinence, diabetic and non-ambulatory care, and short-term stays are all available, each private assisted living and nursing room has its own bathroom, and there's 24-hour supervision with call systems for safety. There's a Kent Village area that handles housekeeping and support for assisted living and nursing care, and the secured Hillsboro Memory Care community is meant for those needing extra memory support. Nursing and healthcare staff, including a massage therapist and podiatrist, work onsite, and there's an activity-rich wellness program and a Health and Wellness Director who oversees both fitness and personal care. Amenities include a salon, barbershop, cocktail lounge, pub, guest suite, and a computer lab, with spaces for games and music, as well as group events open to guests and family. The Huntington At Nashua keeps a not-for-profit structure, and offers a 90% refundable entrance fee and all-inclusive monthly charges, so costs stay predictable, with lots of support for health and daily living as people age and things change.
