    Effortless move-in compassionate clean community

I moved my mom in and couldn't be happier - the move-in was effortless, the staff are friendly, professional and compassionate, and they gave us real peace of mind. The brand-new, very clean community is well designed with roomy studios/cottages, in-unit kitchens and private patios, a busy but calm vibe, and plenty of activities (music, crafts, fitness, outings). Dining is restaurant-style with chef-prepared, varied meals and ordering options. Communication and family respect were strong overall; my only caveat was a lease miscommunication that could have been handled better, but I still highly recommend.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment from these reviews for Summit by Morrison is strongly positive with consistent praise centered on staff, cleanliness, dining, living spaces, and activities, while a small number of negative outliers raise concerns about management, lease communication, and isolated service issues.

Care quality and staff: The majority of reviewers emphasize compassionate, friendly, and professional staff who provide a high level of care. Frequent mentions of daily check-ins, staff who listen and assist, and staff that bring dignity and reassurance to residents suggest a dependable caregiving culture. Multiple accounts describe staff as hard-working, diligent, and able to make residents and families feel at home; families report peace of mind and respectful communication. However, there are isolated but striking negative reports describing poor leadership (including an allegation about a "horrid nurse manager") and perceptions of mismanagement. These negative items are not common across reviews but are serious enough that prospective residents should ask targeted questions about clinical leadership and staff turnover during tours.

Facilities and accommodations: Reviews repeatedly call out the facility as modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed. Many reviewers praise brand-new construction or recent updates, brilliant facility design, and well-appointed common areas (dining hall, theater, library, sun porch). Apartment and cottage descriptions trend positive: large, roomy units with up-to-date appliances, in-unit kitchens, private patios, and even some garages and laundry rooms. That said, there is at least one mention of smaller unit sizes, so unit dimensions appear to vary; prospective residents should confirm specific floor plans and square footage when selecting a unit.

Dining and food quality: Dining is one of the most frequently lauded aspects. Multiple reviewers highlight restaurant-style dining with menu-order options (not steamtable fare), a varied weekly menu, and high praise for the chef and baker (A+). Comments include "delicious food," "great food," and daily three-meal service with choices. In contrast, one reviewer characterized the food as "terrible" and "cold," which conflicts with the broader positive consensus. This suggests that while dining is generally a strong feature, there may be occasional service lapses or differences in individual expectations; visitors should sample meals and ask about menu cycles and food service procedures.

Activities and community life: The community appears active and engaged, with a variety of programming cited: pianist performances, movie days, physical fitness classes, off-site trips, social hours, arts and crafts, exercise, music events, and special touches like car parades. Reviewers report that participation is encouraged and that residents seem happy and well taken care of. Several reviews mention that the community provided emotional support during difficult times, indicating staff involvement beyond basic services.

Operations, communication, and notable concerns: Many reviewers describe a smooth and welcoming move-in process, clear and respectful family communication, and staff who follow through on accommodation requests. Conversely, there are specific, actionable complaints: miscommunication about lease terms and a later inability to adjust the lease led one reviewer to regret giving notice. A few reviewers also used stronger negative language about management being money-driven or poorly run. These are minority views but important: they point to potential vulnerabilities in contract transparency and managerial responsiveness. Prospective residents and families should review lease documents carefully, ask about policies for changes, get clarifications in writing, and inquire about complaint-resolution pathways.

Conclusion: The dominant themes are positive—clean, modern facility; compassionate and professional staff; excellent and varied dining; spacious accommodations for many unit types; and a lively activity program that fosters resident engagement. These strengths translate into strong recommendations from multiple reviewers and a high degree of family satisfaction and peace of mind. Nonetheless, the presence of a few serious negative reports around management, a specific clinical manager, and lease miscommunication warrants careful due diligence. Visitors should tour in person, sample dining, confirm unit specifics, review lease terms in detail, and ask about clinical leadership and recent staffing/management turnover to validate that the overwhelmingly positive experience described in most reviews applies to their chosen unit and care needs.
