    Genuinely caring safe comfortable living

I moved my mom here and I'm very glad I did. The staff are genuinely caring, patient and skilled (Anna and many aides stood out), leadership is professional, and the place feels like family-clean, safe with strong COVID protocols, spacious private apartments, reliable transportation and personalized care. Meals are usually very good though a bit simpler post-COVID, and there are plentiful, well-organized activities that help residents make friends. It's not cheap, but worth every dollar - I highly recommend it.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: Reviews for Ashton Place Senior Living are overwhelmingly positive, with a clear, dominant theme that staff and community culture are the facility's strongest assets. Multiple reviewers emphasize compassionate, patient, and professional caregivers; many describe staff as "family," attentive, and willing to go above and beyond. Leadership and management receive repeated praise for their tone, responsiveness, and for steering the community safely through the COVID-19 pandemic. The combined picture is of a small, family-owned, well-managed community that prioritizes person-centered care.

Care quality and staff: Care is repeatedly described as empathetic, consistent, and individualized. Reviewers mention well-trained nursing staff, aides who take time to answer questions and support families, and staff who coordinate with families for appointments and care plans. Specific safety practices are called out — residents are checked frequently (every two hours was noted), medication administration is available, and enriched services are provided when independence declines. Although most reviews indicate multiple levels of care are available, at least one reviewer reported that very high or rapidly escalating medical needs eventually required relocation, suggesting there may be limits to the highest acuity care the community can manage.

Facilities and apartments: The physical plant is rated highly. Reports describe a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained environment with spacious apartments. Apartment amenities mentioned across reviews include kitchenettes, walk-in showers, Keurig coffee makers, balconies, ample storage, large bedrooms and bathrooms, and comfortable common areas. Housekeeping and maintenance receive consistent praise for thoroughness and responsiveness. Several reviewers note good curb appeal and a welcoming atmosphere.

Dining and meals: Dining is one of the most frequently celebrated aspects, with many calling the food "restaurant-quality," delicious, varied, and one of the best parts of living there. Personalized dining and portion options are appreciated, and some reviewers note weight gain and improved appetite as outcomes. However, there is a notable pattern of mixed feedback about post-COVID changes: a number of reviewers felt meals declined in quality after COVID restrictions (examples included comments about mundane meals or specific dishes that seemed pre-prepared). Several reviewers still emphasize excellent meals overall, but the dining experience appears to have some inconsistency acknowledged by multiple residents/families.

Activities and community life: Ashton Place is consistently described as socially active and engaging. Regular programming includes bingo, frequent concerts and local musicians, exercise classes, crafts, music programs, parties, and weekly outings. Religious services and Sunday music are offered. Reviewers praise the activity director and highlight that there are ample opportunities for socialization and for residents to choose their level of engagement — from quiet independence to highly social participation. Many reviewers attribute improved quality of life and new friendships to the robust activities schedule.

Management, safety, and COVID response: Management and leadership are repeatedly commended, especially for their professional tone, patience, kindness, and crisis handling during COVID-19. Several reviewers explicitly say the leadership's actions preserved safety and provided strong support during difficult times. One isolated review labeled management as "worst management," but this stands against a large majority of positive management comments. The overall pattern indicates confidence in administrative competence and safety protocols.

Logistics, value, and costs: Transportation for medical appointments and outings is regularly provided and appreciated. Many reviewers describe the facility as offering good value or affordability, but cost is a recurring concern: multiple comments describe Ashton Place as "not cheap" or financially unaffordable for some families. Several reviewers felt the experience was "worth every dollar," while others explicitly said the price range was too high. This split suggests that perceived value depends on individual budgets and priorities.

Notable patterns and recommendations: The dominant, consistent findings are a warm, family-style culture; high-quality, attentive staff; clean, well-kept living spaces; varied programming; and generally excellent dining. The main caveats are cost, occasional variability in meal quality (especially cited post-COVID), and at least one instance implying limitations for very high-acuity care. For prospective residents and families, Ashton Place appears to be an attractive option if you prioritize compassionate staff, social programming, cleanliness, and dining — but you should verify current meal offerings and confirm whether the facility can meet any anticipated high-acuity medical needs. A tour and discussion with leadership about care limits, current dining menus, and transparent pricing would address the few recurring concerns while allowing families to weigh the strong positives documented across reviews.
