    About Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community

Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community opened in 1955 and has earned recognition nationwide as a life care retirement community, and it does sit in a lovely setting with a lot to do both indoors and outdoors, including things like wine and cheese gatherings, bridge games, hikes in the area, water aerobics, and swimming at their Aquatic Center, so people stay active and social if they like. They offer several living choices, including apartments, 96 cottages, 16 villas, and 13 cluster homes, all meant to give people a range of options that fit how independent they want to be. Deerfield has a full continuum of care: independent living, assisted living, as well as skilled nursing, and there are specialized programs and services, with some features and terms being unique to how they do things, so people can have care tailored to what they really need, and there's also a focus on memory care and rehabilitation therapies, including physical, occupational, intravenous, and respiratory therapies. Their Health Center covers things like nursing services, personal care, and home-related support to keep people comfortable and safe.

Amenities are a big part of daily life, with choices for casual or formal dining at both the Bistro and the Canterbury Room, plus there's a dining/bar area for those who like to socialize in yet another way, and for anyone who enjoys the arts or learning, there's an Arts Program and Educational Programs, and you'll also find Social Programs as well as a Programs area full of health and wellness activities, along with an active Health and Wellness Center that often serves as a lively hub for people wanting to join in. Spiritual needs are supported too, with services at the St. Giles Chapel and the Health Care Chapel. The community is also environmentally mindful, holding an ENERGY STAR® certification, and there's a charitable foundation that helps support the people who live there and some of the things they do as a community, while also offering a Future Residents Program for folks interested in moving in later. There's an official Facebook page for keeping up online, and opportunities to take part in social events or volunteer, since as people get older, it helps to have ways to connect. The Riverwalk Spa is part of the campus too, giving another option for relaxation, and the place does try to offer as much comfort and choice as it can, without pretending everything is perfect, just good options for seniors who want safety, care, and activity as part of their retirement.
