    Beautiful, clean community; friendly staff

I toured this beautiful, new and very clean senior living community and was impressed. I found the staff consistently friendly and helpful - especially Desiree and Jackie - and the tour was thorough. The secure, well-lit building in an excellent location near shopping, restaurants and the highway offers many amenities (dining area with a resort feel, gym, pool, library, courtyard/patio, activities, transportation, elevators and easy package/mail handling). Apartments felt spacious with two-bed/two-bath options; overall homey, quiet and professional - but it is pricey.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for The Legacy at Walton Kennesaw Mountain is strongly positive, with repeated emphasis on staff quality, cleanliness, modern design, and a robust set of amenities. Reviewers consistently describe the staff as friendly, helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable; several individuals call out specific employees (Desiree and Jackie) by name, indicating memorable, high-quality personal interactions. Tours are reported as thorough and informative, with staff taking time to explain pricing and services. The facility’s cleanliness, contemporary aesthetic, and resort-like presentation — especially in the dining areas and common spaces — are noted by many visitors.

Facilities and amenities receive uniformly strong praise. The building is described as new, well-lit, secure, and well-maintained. Common-area features mentioned across reviews include a gym, pool, recreation area, library, courtyard, patio, garden seating, and spacious dining areas. Practical conveniences such as a mailroom, elevators, package rollers, and handicapped parking add to the sense of functionality and resident comfort. Several reviewers highlight accessible services like transportation to appointments and a variety of scheduled activities, which supports an active and social environment. Reviewers also emphasize attractive outdoor and seating areas that facilitate conversation and small-group interaction.

Dining, social life, and community atmosphere are consistently positive themes. The dining area is frequently described as welcoming and having a resort-like ambiance, contributing to a warm, homey feeling. Multiple comments mention residents interacting with each other, a quiet/neat environment, and plentiful activities — all indicators of a socially engaging community. Reviewers note that the facility feels professional yet home-like, with attentive staff and many opportunities for socialization and recreation.

There are a few recurring concerns to note. The most commonly mentioned drawback is cost: several reviewers explicitly say the community is expensive or ‘‘too expensive,’’ which suggests pricing may be a barrier for some prospects. Apartment size reports are mixed — while some visitors describe large, spacious units, others characterize rooms as small — indicating variability between floor plans or possible differences in expectations versus reality. A minority of reviewers indicated they were not yet old enough for the community, pointing to age eligibility or target resident demographic as a practical limitation for younger prospective residents.

In summary, The Legacy at Walton Kennesaw Mountain appears to deliver a high-quality senior living experience with strong staff engagement, modern and clean facilities, abundant amenities, and an active social environment. The community’s location near Kennesaw Mountain, shopping, restaurants, and major roads is repeatedly cited as advantageous. The primary negatives are price sensitivity and mixed impressions about apartment sizes; prospective residents should clarify pricing, available floor plans, and age eligibility during tours. Given the consistent praise for staff, programming, and upkeep, the facility is well-regarded overall, with cost and unit-selection being the main areas for prospective residents to evaluate further.

About The Legacy at Walton Kennesaw Mountain

The Legacy at Walton Kennesaw Mountain is a senior living community for adults aged 62 and older, found at 1520 Old 41 Hwy NW in Kennesaw, Georgia, and the place tries to combine comfort and safety with a peaceful, neighborly setting, which is something that you do notice when you walk around the landscaped gardens and quiet walking paths when the weather's nice. The community offers both independent and assisted living, so residents can get help with things like bathing, dressing, and taking medicine if they need it, or keep more independence in their own apartment, which usually comes with either a kitchen or a kitchenette, and you'll find little touches like granite countertops, hardwood floors, and walk-in closets. Folks can pick from one or two-bedroom options, and many units have things like patios or balconies, ceiling fans, and washer-dryer hookups, with pet-friendly policies letting you bring a cat or dog along too, so long as you respect the community's rules.

Daily life gets easier here because there's a housekeeping service for cleaning, and laundry and dry-cleaning help if keeping up old routines is getting frustrating, and the staff is always around, with a call system working 24 hours a day if anyone needs quick help or emergencies come up. There's a salon and barbershop for haircuts, a fitness center for those who want to keep active, and a wellness program with classes and events focused on senior health, and you can join social activities like games, crafts, music, and movie nights in the game room or lounge, or find a quiet spot in the library. Meals are served in a dining room, with dining services able to handle some allergy concerns, and the property includes a clubhouse, gym, grill area, and safe parking, including garage spots. Buildings are designed with safety in mind-handicap accessible features, sprinkler systems, and secure key fob access are standard. Internet and cable TV are available throughout, and there's transportation for those trips out to shopping or doctor appointments, since a few stores and places to eat are close by but not always easy to reach on foot if you don't feel steady.

Living here, residents can take part in scheduled activities, choose furnished or unfurnished rooms, and use common spaces like the arts room, spa/wellness room, and outdoor gardens, with staff ready to help new people move in and settle. People who already live here and new applicants both have their own sections with information through an E-Brochure, and the pet policy and list of amenities are kept up to date for folks wanting details before deciding. The Legacy at Walton Kennesaw Mountain is part of a group of communities in the area, and the place aims to support a good range of care and comfort, with an eye toward helping seniors live safely and with dignity in a setting that feels comfortable and welcoming but isn't busy or pushy about it.
