    Former resident, unsafe, avoid facility

I lived here and watched the place collapse under new management since April 2021. What used to be a decent assisted-living community has gone down the toilet: passive-aggressive signs, 24/7 locked doors and restricted visitors, police activity, resident deaths, high turnover, and an overall unsafe, unhealthy vibe. A couple of employees are really nice, but management is unfriendly, piling on new rules, rent increases and lease-renewal pressure so it feels like a lockdown. I would not choose this for my parents - avoid.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly negative with a few isolated positive notes. Multiple reviewers describe a marked deterioration in the community linked to a change in management that began around April 2021. While a small number of employees are repeatedly called out as "really nice," the dominant themes are frustration, safety concerns, and dissatisfaction with rules, policies, and the tone of management.

Management and policies: The reviews consistently point to new management practices as the root cause of most complaints. Reviewers report unfriendly leadership, passive-aggressive signage, and an overall change in the facility’s culture. Specific policy complaints include 24/7 locked entrance doors, restricted visitor access, and a perceived lockdown or "prison-like" environment. Rent increases and pressure to sign lease renewals are also repeatedly mentioned, contributing to residents’ and family members’ dissatisfaction. Taken together, these accounts portray a facility where administrative decisions and rule enforcement have undermined residents’ sense of autonomy and comfort.

Care quality, safety, and population stability: Several reviews explicitly state that the community has "gone down the toilet" and is "not an assisted living community anymore," suggesting a perceived decline in the level of care and appropriate services. There are alarming mentions of "unhealthy living," resident deaths, and frequent police activity; these raise significant safety and wellbeing concerns. High resident turnover is noted as a pattern, which can erode continuity of care, community cohesion, and the ability to maintain consistent staffing and programming.

Staff and interpersonal environment: The reviews are mixed but skew negative regarding staff and interpersonal climate. Although reviewers repeatedly single out a "couple of really NICE employees," the broader characterization of staff interactions—especially management—tends to be negative (unfriendly, controlling, or passive-aggressive). This suggests that while frontline workers or specific team members may be supportive, organizational-level leadership and staffing stability are perceived as problematic.

Facilities, access, and daily life: Beyond safety and policy concerns, reviewers describe restricted visitor access and constant locked entrances that create a lockdown-like feeling. These physical security measures combined with strict rules are reported to generate frustration among residents and their families. There is no detailed information in these summaries about dining, programming, or specific facility conditions (cleanliness, amenities) beyond general statements of "unhealthy living," but the reported atmosphere implies a less pleasant daily experience than families expect from an assisted living setting.

Polarization and remaining positives: A minority of comments are positive, noting affordability and at least some residents’ willingness to recommend the community or say they would choose it again. These positive notes often emphasize cost and the presence of a few exceptional staff members. However, they are outweighed in volume and intensity by reports of management-related decline, safety concerns, and restrictive policies.

Conclusion and implications for prospective residents/families: The reviews portray a community in transition with substantial concerns tied to a management change. Key issues to verify in person or with follow-up questions include: specifics of recent incidents (safety/police involvement), the nature and justification of access restrictions and locked doors, staffing levels and turnover, how rent increases and lease renewals are handled, and what measures—if any—management has taken to address reported problems. The presence of a few praised employees and low cost are positives, but the repeated safety, policy, and care-quality complaints suggest prospective residents and their families should exercise caution, visit in person, speak directly with current residents and multiple staff members, and compare alternatives before deciding.

You'll also find respite, hospice, and companion care available, so as needs change, support keeps up. Meals here use quality ingredients with nutrition in mind, and there's a strong focus on keeping shared areas tidy and all maintenance up to date.
