    Impressive tour and comfortable amenities

I was impressed by the well-run tour and friendly staff. The community is affordable, clean and comfortable with a heated indoor pool (limited hours), gym, pool table, TV room and a quiet reading room; elevator and on-floor laundry make daily life easy. Apartments felt spacious, utilities are included (cable extra), entry is secure with a key fob, and they allow up to two pets (25 lb max, $325 non-refundable per pet). Close to Point Lookout for fishing and public transit-overall I'd recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Lexington Park Senior Apartments presents as an affordable independent-living option with an emphasis on building amenities and basic convenience. Overall impressions in the available summaries are positive: tours are described as professional and well-run, the property is secure, utilities are bundled, and the pricing is seen as accessible. The complex appears oriented toward residents who value on-site recreational amenities and straightforward, budget-conscious living arrangements.

Facility features are a notable strength. The building offers elevator access, on-floor laundry, a reading room, recreation spaces (pool table and TV room), and fitness options. A heated indoor pool is available, though its hours are limited. Common areas and stairwells are described as well maintained and clean. Security is addressed through a key-fob entry system. Utilities are included in the rent, which supports predictability in monthly costs; cable service is billed separately.

Activity programming and dining appear constrained. Several reviewers noted that organized on-site activities were suspended (at the time of the comments), with occasional external events such as visits from a Masonic Lodge buffet supplementing social opportunities. This indicates some reliance on off-site groups for communal dining or events rather than robust in-house programming. There is no indication of a full-service dining program on site; prospective residents who prioritize structured, frequent on-site activities or dining services should verify current programming availability.

Management and staff impressions are generally favorable. Tours left a positive impression, and building upkeep is highlighted. The property’s pet policy is permissive toward small dogs but includes a weight limit and a non-refundable deposit, which may be a deciding factor for pet owners. Location-related trade-offs are present: the complex is close enough to public transportation and local recreational spots (Point Lookout is mentioned for fishing), but some residents find the distance to particular places of worship or other community amenities inconvenient.

Notable patterns to weigh when considering this community include mixed perceptions of unit size—some reviewers describe apartments as spacious while others find certain units small—and limited amenity hours coupled with reduced on-site activity programming. Financially, the inclusion of basic utilities is a strength, though extras such as cable and pet deposits increase total cost. In summary, Lexington Park Senior Apartments may suit residents seeking affordable, secure independent living with on-site recreational amenities and predictable utilities; those seeking extensive on-site social programming, larger floorplans, or closer proximity to particular community services should confirm current offerings and unit options before committing.

    About Lexington Park Senior Apartments

Lexington Park Senior Apartments sits in a small rural town in Lexington Park, Maryland, right near the Patuxent River and with places like Saint Mary's State Park close by, where there's plenty of walking trails, forests, and boat docks. The community's made for people 55 and older, featuring both one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, and some units have private patios, decks, or balconies, plus full kitchens so residents can cook for themselves. The buildings are wheelchair accessible, and many rooms have handrails for safety, plus there are ground floor units for easy access.

Residents find several care levels here, including independent living, assisted living, and memory care, with services for people who want to live on their own, need help with daily tasks, or have Alzheimer's or dementia. Assisted living offers support with things like bathing, dressing, and medication management, while the memory care program includes secure spaces and activities to help people with memory loss stay engaged. There's even home care through Sunshine On The Go Nursing, with aides providing non-medical help to seniors living at home.

Skilled nursing is available for those needing rehabilitation, wound care, or 24-hour nursing help, and respite care gives family caregivers a break with short-term stays. Meals and personal care are included when needed, and the staff is always around to help, with a property manager keeping things running smoothly and overseeing building maintenance. Utilities come included in the rent, except for cable and phone, and the published price point averages around $899 per month, which makes it fairly affordable compared to many other senior living options.

There are plenty of spaces for socializing and relaxing, like indoor and outdoor common rooms, a heated indoor pool with a Jacuzzi, a community library, a media room, a lounge, and even a movie theater for group nights. There's a beauty salon on-site as well as a dog park for pets, plus a calendar of structured activity programs, devotional services, offsite trips, and social events that help residents stay active and get to know each other. Residents often describe a family-like environment where people participate in each other's day-to-day lives.

Parking for residents is available, the location's close to public transportation, and the community provides free rides when needed. The building doesn't allow smoking indoors and has pet-friendly policies. Staff offers medication management, regular check-ins, and support for independent seniors. The overall rating from reviews is 4.33, and this place is meant for those seeking a straightforward, accessible option for senior apartment living, either with or without extra care.
