    Clean active family-oriented resort-like community

I'm very pleased - the staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful, the brand-new facility is spotless and resort-like, and there are tons of activities and amenities (heated salt-water pool, gym, theater/movie nights, craft and game rooms, woodworking, pub, library). Apartments are comfortable though some units are small with modest balconies, there's no on-site dining or transportation, and COVID/availability issues have limited programming and two-bedroom options; pricing felt a bit high. Overall I'd recommend it for the clean, active, family-oriented community and attentive staff.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive. Reviewers consistently highlight the facility’s newness, cleanliness, and high-quality upkeep; many describe Affinity at Vancouver as spotless, well-maintained, and resort-like. The community is repeatedly characterized as friendly and family-oriented, with numerous comments calling out the staff as kind, helpful, informative, and knowledgeable. Tours are described as comprehensive and staff are noted for being welcoming and responsive. Maintenance and operations staff receive separate praise for being helpful and prompt.

Facility-wise, the property receives high marks for the breadth and condition of its amenities. Multiple reviews list the theater/movie room, card and craft rooms, woodworking shop, library, game room, small gym, heated saltwater pool and Jacuzzi, pool table, and a pub/social space as standout features. Outdoor space and proximity to a city park are also mentioned positively. The presence of garages, elevators, guest suites and an overall private, secure environment add to residents’ comfort. Several reviewers emphasize the ‘brand-new’ feel and ongoing attention to cleaning and upkeep, which reinforces the strong first impressions many visitors report.

Social life and programming are another strong point. There is an active social calendar that includes movie nights, weekly happy hour events at the pub, water aerobics, get-togethers, and planned outings. Reviews note a mix of staff-organized programming and resident-led activities, which supports both structured events and grassroots social engagement. That said, multiple reviewers mention that activities were more limited during COVID and are only starting to resume, and a few residents wish for a broader range or higher frequency of programming as restrictions lift.

Dining and services are a clear area of limitation. Several reviews explicitly state there is no on-site dining or meal service; the pub/social area is a gathering spot but does not serve food. There is also no on-site transportation service mentioned in the reviews. These factors are important trade-offs to consider for prospective residents who expect full-service dining or shuttle options as part of their community package.

Housing, pricing, and availability create additional mixed impressions. Apartments are described variably: some reviews praise spacious units, others note that studios or certain units feel small and that balconies can be modest in size (larger patios are available in some units). Reviewers mention all-inclusive pricing is offered, but there are recurring comments about perceived price inflation tied to extra activities or fees. Availability is a practical concern—several summaries mention limited openings and difficulty finding two-bedroom units when needed.

In summary, Affinity at Vancouver is frequently praised for its welcoming staff, clean new construction, well-appointed amenity set, and active social environment. The strongest positives are the physical condition of the campus and the friendliness and helpfulness of personnel. Important caveats for prospective residents include the lack of on-site dining and transportation, potential constraints around unit size and specific floor plans, and availability and cost considerations. COVID-era limits on programming are frequently cited but many reviewers report activities are beginning to return. For people seeking a modern, amenity-rich, 62+ community with an emphasis on social life and a resort-like atmosphere — and who do not require on-site dining or transportation — the reviews indicate Affinity at Vancouver is a very attractive option. For those who require meal service, robust transportation, larger multi-bedroom units, or are very sensitive to cost, these reviews suggest confirming those specifics with management before committing.

    About Affinity at Vancouver

Affinity at Vancouver is a senior living community designed for adults aged 62 and over, and you'll notice how much room there is to move around with 30,000 square feet of living space that includes lots of areas for activities and gatherings, like a crafts studio, game room, billiards room, and even a movie theater where residents can enjoy films together without leaving the building, and there's also a conference room, a library, and spaces for hobby clubs so folks can keep up with whatever they're interested in and meet others who like the same things. The place puts a lot of thought into safety, from full handicap access and elevators to secure memory care areas that help folks with Alzheimer's or dementia stay comfortable and not get confused or wander off, plus there's 24-hour staff around to help with whatever might come up, from medication reminders to help with bathing or getting around, and every person living there gets their own personalized care plan so their health and habits are looked after.

In terms of amenities, residents get access to things like a private gym, an indoor pool and spa, a pickleball court, a dog park and dog wash spa, a BBQ area, and even fast Wi-Fi for anyone wanting to keep up with family online or stream a show, and folks will find laundry facilities and elevators to make daily living a bit easier. You'll see a focus on supportive services, whether that's skilled nursing on-site, general counseling, or residential care for children, and for seniors who want to keep their independence but could use some help with bathing, dressing, or meals, the assisted living services fill that gap by giving support while letting them stay as independent as possible. There's even home care options where aides can visit and provide non-medical help for those who'd rather stay in their own homes.

The community keeps folks socially active with lots of resident-driven events like themed parties and social gatherings, and there's real care put into making everyone feel like they belong, which is probably why it's known for having friendly staff and a family atmosphere. People can bring pets, enjoy the outdoors with easy access to parks or golf courses, and find shopping and dining options nearby. The whole place is set up so people can live as carefree as possible, since rent includes utilities and most of those community features, and there's always something to do, from joining a club to relaxing with friends. The community encourages everyone to stay engaged, active, and socially connected, making it less about just living there and more about being part of something lively and supportive.
