    Outstanding care; minor logistical shortcomings

I placed my mom at Legacy Village and have peace of mind - the community is clean and home-like with large rooms, lovely public areas, balanced meals, and engaging activities. The memory and rehab care are outstanding and the staff are professional, prompt, and genuinely caring - they've become part of our family. A few downsides: toiletries aren't included, this location has no transportation, and we've seen occasional short-staffing that required some family assistance.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with the majority of comments emphasizing compassionate, professional and family-oriented staff, a clean and welcoming physical environment, good activities, and effective memory care and rehabilitation services. Many reviewers explicitly describe staff as kind, loving, knowledgeable and patient; they frequently note that staff became part of the family, went above and beyond, and provided genuine care. Several reviewers single out the memory care and rehab offerings as excellent and stress-free, and the community is often described as giving families peace of mind and being the 'right place' for their loved ones.

Care quality and staff performance are the most consistently praised aspects. Reviewers describe attentive CNAs and caregiving teams, prompt and respectful treatment, and staff who create a warm, home-like atmosphere. Multiple comments point to staff dedication, responsiveness to requests, and a sense that residents are safe and well taken care of. Tours are noted as transparent, showing real resident rooms, and the facility receives repeat mentions for strong leadership and good follow-up after initial visits.

Facilities, dining, and activities are also highlighted positively. The building and public spaces are described as clean, inviting, and well laid out, with large resident rooms that accommodate personal furniture and comfortable common areas such as a covered porch. Meals are generally reported as balanced and enjoyable. Social programming receives regular praise — activities are called fun and engaging (for example, a Valentine's dance was specifically mentioned), and reviewers note good community and family involvement. These elements contribute to residents forming new friendships and enjoying an active social life within the community.

Despite the overwhelmingly favorable remarks, there are notable negative patterns that prospective residents and families should consider. A subset of reviews reports staffing shortages or minimal staff interaction; specific concerns include residents being left to self-manage personal care (not bathing), instances of wandering without supervision, and impressions that families had to provide much of the hands-on care. These reports conflict with the many positive statements about care and suggest variability in staffing levels or in the experience across different units or shifts. Because such lapses involve resident safety and wellbeing, they represent the most serious concerns appearing in the summaries.

Other practical drawbacks mentioned by multiple reviewers are non-clinical but relevant: toiletries are not included in costs, and this location does not provide transportation services. Some commenters described the community as 'older' or having a demographic imbalance (more men than women), and a few said the setting was not ideally located for their family. While many reviewers praised the value and price for the level of care, these logistical factors (extras, transportation, suitability of community demographic) may affect whether the facility is the right match for a particular resident.

In synthesis, Legacy Village of Taylorsville appears to deliver a high level of warmth, engagement, and clinical services for many residents — especially in memory care and rehab — with clean, comfortable facilities and a strong, personable staff culture that many families trust and recommend. However, there are recurring reports of staffing-related care gaps and some service limitations (toiletries, transportation) that prospective families should investigate. Recommended next steps for families considering this community are to ask specific questions during tours about current staffing ratios, supervision in memory care, how personal care needs (bathing, toiletry provision) are handled, transportation options or alternatives, and to request to see the exact unit and typical staffing patterns for the shifts most relevant to their loved one. This will help confirm whether the overwhelmingly positive experiences reported will match an individual resident's needs and risk profile.

    About Legacy Village of Taylorsville

Legacy Village of Taylorsville sits in Taylorsville, Utah, and offers assisted living, independent living, and memory care for older adults who need extra help with daily life, and you'll find staff on hand who help with dressing, bathing, grooming, medication, eating, walking, and even incontinence care, which gives residents support but lets them keep their independence and dignity. It's got a secure environment, so folks with memory issues like Alzheimer's or dementia can feel safer, and their memory care area, called The Cottage, is set up especially for these residents, with private apartments that people can fill with their own things and mementos so it feels more like home. This place has specially trained caregivers on staff around the clock to provide supervision and help with different tasks, whether someone just needs a hand now and then or needs constant attention, and there's always someone there to offer help or company. Therapies like physical, speech, and occupational therapy happen right at Legacy Village of Taylorsville, and there's a rehabilitation center for folks getting over surgery, illness, or injuries, so people can recover close to home. You'll find family-style dining and comfortable, nicely decorated spaces that feel welcoming, and the staff focus on meaningful activities and programs, some tailored for those with special memory needs, so people have both structure and choices in their days. Assisted living services aim to give as much support as each resident needs, whether it's managing medicines or help getting around, while still letting people hold onto their own routines and choices, and everything, from amenities like pet-friendly spaces and Wi-Fi to the secure design of the memory wing, is there to try to make daily life both safer and more comfortable.
