      About Rivington

Rivington is a residential community in Danbury, Connecticut, near the New York border, spread over a 550-acre property, where the homes are built by Toll Brothers, and you'll find a mix of apartments, condos, townhouses, villas, and some single-family homes with names like Alstead, Aberton, Jaffrey, Jaywick, and Winwood, all catering to a 55+ crowd who want lower-maintenance living with landscaping and snow removal already handled for them, and the homes are available in several styles and bedroom configurations-some have first-floor primary bedrooms, full basements you can finish, two-car garages, big open kitchens with center islands and tall windows, gas fireplaces, and flexible living spaces, with square footage between 1,948 and 2,759, and two to four bedrooms and baths. You can see a site plan and neighborhood map, and the homes have options for things like lighting, hardwood floors, cabinets and counters, security, and home automation, all made available through the Design Studio, and while the sales center sits at 5 Reserve Rd, you can visit daily from 10am to 5pm except Mondays when it opens at 2pm.

The community has a long list of amenities-you'll find a big clubhouse, fitness center, outdoor pool, aerobics studio, arts and crafts room, activity rooms, ballroom, a kitchen for events, locker rooms, tennis courts, pickleball, walking paths, outdoor kitchen, club room, a spa/sauna space, cabanas, shared outdoor spaces, and some nice views, and the Regency at Rivington section is part of these shared amenities, and people can enjoy regular scheduled and resident-led activities, movie nights, games, fitness and wellness programs, a library, an on-site theater, community dining with options for special dietary needs like diabetes, allergy restrictions, and meal plans, and the homes come with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, cable TV, and furnishings, with both private and shared room choices available. They also offer a wellness room and fitness rooms throughout the community.

Rivington is a Continuing Care Retirement Community, so if you need help there's assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and independent living options, so you can get supervision or help with things like bathing, dressing, medication management, or even non-ambulatory care, all supported by a 24-hour call system, and services like housekeeping, transportation, parking, move-in help, laundry, dry cleaning, concierge, and family support are available to make things simpler. They also provide medication management, and you'll find telephone and high-speed internet in the homes.

Construction activity with earth-moving machines does go on sometimes because the community is growing-they've got permission for new projects like a 25-unit apartment house, another three-story apartment building, and a 64-townhouse development up on a wooded hill, with a plan to keep 29 acres as private open space, and while there was talk of a warehouse, that plan was withdrawn even though it was allowed under the master site plan, and up to 35,000 square feet of commercial space and a 17,500 square foot building could be added too, as the highest number of homes approved here is 2,157. Rivington's in a spot at Reserve and Woodland roads, covering a 4-acre lot within the larger Reserve development, so it's really a big, busy, mixed-use place intended for folks who want plenty of amenities and service, but also privacy and support as they age, and while the Ridge Collection homes by Toll Brothers have sold out, the vibrant and supportive community life continues with amenities and care for active adults and seniors.
