      About Cresswind at Lake Lanier

Cresswind at Lake Lanier sat at 3007 Scarlet Oak Lane in Gainesville, Georgia, and was built in 2011 by Kolter Homes as a master-planned community meant for adults 55 and over, offering different types of care like independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and continuing care, and while it was open, the place had a clubhouse called the Cresswind Lake Lanier Club House, along with completed single-family homes that featured things like carpet floors and fireplaces, and outside you'd see brick and other types of finishes, plus there was a waterfall near the front of the property, which gave the entrance a bit of character if you were just driving by. The community had 12 outdoor pickleball courts that were private, with their own restrooms and lights, and you didn't need a membership to play, which drew a lot of active folks and it did seem to focus on pickleball a fair bit, and among those outdoor activities, there were organized events, fitness classes, craft sessions, social gatherings, and a calendar full of things that tried to get people out and about. For daily life, they had housekeeping, laundry service, dry cleaning, move-in help, a range of dining options including all-day dining, meals for special diets like diabetes, a dining room, and scheduled meal times, and if someone needed extra care they'd help with dressing, meal prep, medication management, as well as respite care for short stays or if someone's caregiver needed a break, and residents had access to phones and Wi-Fi too. The community encouraged both staying active and finding quiet time, with common areas and clubs where you could either meet new friends or keep to yourself, and their goal was to let people stay independent for as long as possible while having support nearby for daily tasks. Folks enjoyed walks and relaxing because you were pretty close to Lake Lanier, and with lots of doctors, pharmacies, restaurants, cafes, hospitals, and churches nearby, you could get what you needed without much trouble, and the builders even advertised quick home sale services that promised a cash offer in minutes, which likely helped folks move in faster back when the community was open. The community was once named "Best Active Senior Community" in Atlanta Best Self Magazine in 2016, and in general, Cresswind at Lake Lanier tried to balance a vacation feeling with regular routines, helping residents build friendships and enjoy living among peers, but as of now, the facility is closed and doesn't operate any days of the week despite what older listings might say about hours, so anyone looking into it will find the doors shut. The last known review rating sat at 4.4 stars out of 97 reviews and the place could house up to 6 residents at a time, aiming for a small, close-knit atmosphere.
