      Neglectful, dirty, understaffed, unsafe facility

I placed my mother here and was horrified: neglectful management, chronic understaffing, filthy, moldy-smelling rooms, flooded sunrooms and urine-stained chairs, limited water, high-sodium food, poor communication and a doctor who won't return calls - residents were often left without proper care. A few staff were kind and my mother liked some caregivers, but overall the building is unsafe and poorly run; I cannot recommend it.

      Summary review

Overall sentiment across the provided reviews is mixed but weighted heavily toward serious concerns. Multiple reviews describe significant problems with management, cleanliness, staffing and care quality. However, there are isolated positive comments — a few reviewers describe the staff as pleasant, a resident being happy, and one or more reviewers recommending the facility. These positive remarks appear to be exceptions amid a number of substantive criticisms.

Care quality and resident wellbeing appear to be the most frequent and serious issues in the reviews. Specific reports include a resident developing an ulcer attributed to lack of care and more general statements that residents are "not looked after" or "neglected." The combination of understaffing and staff being overwhelmed is cited as a root cause: reviewers say employees are unable to complete all necessary tasks and that some staff members are inattentive or sometimes sit around instead of assisting residents. There is also a distinct complaint that the facility's on-staff doctor does not return calls, indicating problems with medical responsiveness and follow-up.

Staffing and interpersonal dynamics show a split picture. Several reviews explicitly say some staff are good, pleasant, or caring, and at least one family reports a happy resident and recommends the place. At the same time, the dominant narrative is understaffing and overwork: staff reportedly cannot keep up with needs, which contributes to lapses in basic care and supervision. The presence of both positive and negative staff comments suggests variability in individual caregiver performance and inconsistency in day-to-day staffing levels or management oversight.

Facility condition and cleanliness receive repeated negative mention. Reviews describe a persistent moldy smell, urine-stained chairs, and an overall dirty or smelly environment. Building maintenance issues are also raised — notably sunrooms that flood and general statements that the building is unsafe. These environmental problems compound the care concerns; unsanitary conditions and moisture/mold risk both resident comfort and health. A few comments describe the facility as clean, but such positive statements are outnumbered by specific complaints about odors, stains, and poor housekeeping.

Dining and basic resident needs are additional problem areas. Reviewers mention high-sodium food and limited access to water, both of which are important for resident health, especially among elderly populations with dietary restrictions or fluid needs. These reports suggest lapses in meal planning and daily assistance or monitoring. When combined with reports of understaffing and neglect, limited water access and poor meal quality become immediate health concerns rather than minor inconveniences.

Management and communication are consistently criticized. Reviewers describe management as terrible or neglectful and note minimal communication with families. This lack of communication likely exacerbates frustration when health or environmental issues arise (for example, medical staff not returning calls or delays in addressing maintenance problems). The overall pattern is one of inconsistent oversight: individual staff members may perform well, but systemic problems in leadership, staffing, and facility upkeep are repeatedly called out.

In summary, the reviews portray a facility with serious systemic issues affecting cleanliness, safety, medical responsiveness, and daily care, driven in part by understaffing and management failures. There are isolated positive experiences—pleasant individual caregivers and at least one satisfied family—but these do not negate the recurring, detailed complaints about neglect, unsanitary conditions, building problems, and poor communication. Anyone evaluating this facility should weigh the specific negative reports heavily and, if considering placement, verify current staffing levels, hygiene standards, medical response protocols, building maintenance status, and speak with multiple families to determine whether the positive experiences are typical or exceptional.
