      Clean caring staff inconsistent oversight

I liked the clean facility, excellent and caring staff who made us feel at home, great nutritious food, and the small size meant quick bathroom access and one-on-one attention. However, service and management were inconsistent, they didn't reliably track ordered vitals, activities were limited, rooms were very small, and I would not recommend this place for a loved one who needs more space or dependable clinical oversight.

      Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is mixed but leans positive in several core areas while flagging a few serious concerns. Multiple reviewers praise the facility for cleanliness, good and nutritious food, and a caring staff that builds strong rapport with residents. Many comments emphasize the personalized, family-like care, one-on-one attention, and staff willingness to accommodate requests. These strengths signal that for many residents the day-to-day experience — especially personal care and interactions with caregivers — is a clear positive.

Care quality and staff: The dominant theme is that caregivers are kind, responsive, and form trusting relationships with residents. Reviews describe excellent care, great rapport, and an owner who is appreciated, suggesting consistent, compassionate front-line caregiving. At least one reviewer specifically noted responsiveness to patient and family requests, reinforcing the impression of attentive staff. However, this overall positive view of staff is tempered by one or more serious negative reports: a reviewer described service as "exceptionally poor" and advised against the facility, indicating a potentially significant outlier experience or an episodic breakdown in care for some residents.

Facilities and space: Several reviews highlight the small size of the facility as an advantage — particularly for quicker access to bathrooms and more individualized attention. At the same time, one comment calls out a "very small room," so there is some variation in room size and privacy that prospective residents should confirm. Interestingly, at least one reviewer described the facility as having a "bigger space" and "roomy" — this suggests variability between units/rooms or differing expectations among reviewers. Overall, the physical environment appears comfortable for many residents, but room size and layout may vary and should be inspected in person.

Dining and activities: Dining receives consistently positive mention — food is described as good and nutritious, which multiple reviewers appreciated. Activity offerings are more mixed: there is an exercise class, but it runs only every other week, and several reviewers noted limited activities overall. If an active social/activity program is important to a prospective resident, the current schedule appears sparse and may not meet expectations for frequent engagement.

Management, safety, and documentation concerns: The most serious and recurring negative themes relate to management and clinical/documentation practices. One review states the facility is not tracking vital data for patients who have orders to monitor vitals — a specific and concrete safety concern. Relatedly, reviewers reported inconsistent application of policies by management. These issues stand out because they touch on resident safety, regulatory compliance, and the reliability of care practices. Although many reviews praise caregivers, gaps in management oversight or record-keeping could undermine that frontline care and are important red flags to investigate further.

Notable patterns and takeaways: The majority of reviews emphasize compassionate, personalized care, cleanliness, and good food — strengths that make the facility attractive to families seeking a small, home-like environment. However, there are clear, significant concerns from at least one reviewer about service quality and procedural lapses (vital data not tracked, inconsistent policies) that suggest variability in performance or possible isolated incidents with major implications. Room sizes and the amount of communal/activity space appear inconsistent across reviews.

In summary, Moms and Pops Place presents as a small, clean, family-feeling facility with committed caregivers and good dining, but prospective residents and families should investigate management practices, verify clinical documentation and vital-sign monitoring for residents with medical orders, and tour rooms to confirm space. Given the mix of strong positives alongside specific safety/management criticisms, an in-person visit and direct questions about policy consistency, staffing, and how vitals and other ordered medical tasks are tracked would be prudent steps before deciding.

The building has indoor common areas where people can spend time together, and the outdoor space includes nice gardens and walking paths, plus, for those who smoke, there's a spot for outdoor smoking. For health services, you'll find 24-hour supervision plus help for diabetes, incontinence, and ambulatory needs, and there's coordination with visiting healthcare folks such as doctors, nurses, podiatrists, and therapists. The rooms come furnished and include private baths, sometimes with full-size tubs, and also have cable TV, Wi-Fi, and a phone so residents can stay in touch with people they care about or keep up with favorite shows. Housekeeping, laundry, and linen services are included, and if someone only needs a short stay, Moms and Pops Place offers respite care too.

The staff treats everyone with kindness and respect, trying to make each resident feel supported, comfortable, and part of the community, and there's always a focus on making daily life both safe and engaging, especially for those with memory issues or physical difficulties, with activities and supervision aimed at helping residents stay active and connected. There's a real effort to keep things running smoothly, making sure each person's care fits what they need, whether that means assistance with personal tasks, medicine, or just having a friendly face nearby. And with the recent move to a bigger and more comfortable building, there's plenty of room for people to settle in, enjoy sunny days in the garden, and take part in community life, all while knowing someone's around to help when they need it.
