Friends and Family helps seniors stay as independent as possible by offering care in their own homes and in the community, and they do this with a focus on comfort and dignity, making sure there's always qualified staff around who really know about elder care and provide help with things that aren't medical, things like making meals, keeping folks company, helping with daily routines, or just being there if someone needs a hand, and the place has lots of small touches that make life easier like transportation, medication reminders, music therapy, and even outings now and then. It's known for its Friends And Family Adult Day Program, or FFADP, which is a social model adult daycare that pays as much attention to the caregivers as it does to the folks attending, so you see the caregivers can get some support and help too, and the whole day program runs Monday through Friday from nine in the morning to five in the afternoon, with all the programming packed between nine and four, giving people a full day of supervised care, meals, snacks, group activities, and plenty of recreation to keep everyone active and engaged. Folks have to be at least 65, generally need full-time care because of health reasons, but can get around with a walker or cane, and they're careful to check that everyone who comes in can participate safely, with a process that asks for an application, some medical information, and a little evaluation to make sure it's a good fit. They stick close to state rules, keeping a safe number of care staff for every senior and making sure the place is tidy and secure with regular checks and inspections, and the staff includes people who know a lot about mental health, creative activities, and personal needs of older folks, which comes in handy for all the different programs like cognition activities or reminder services. There's also help for incontinence, and the community offers simple, useful amenities to make daily life run a bit smoother, with an extra effort to offer a place where seniors can have active days while caregivers find a bit of relief.
