    Excellent care, activities, theft concern

I live here and, overall, the care is excellent - staff are helpful, knowledgeable, caring, and the therapy is marvelous; the facility is extremely clean and well kept. They run lots of activities (music, bingo, arts & crafts, weekly big events, beauty shop) though things have been restricted during quarantine and the place isn't completely up-to-date. Meals are great and adequate (minor gripe: meat can be hard to pull off the bone) and I'd like more single-occupancy rooms instead of recent room-sharing changes. It's reasonably priced (~$7,200/mo) compared with others, but I had jewelry stolen and felt administration was apathetic about it.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is predominantly positive, with repeated praise for the quality of hands-on care, the friendliness of staff, and the cleanliness of the facility. Multiple reviewers highlight that staff are helpful, caring, and knowledgeable — many feel staff genuinely enjoy their work and prioritize residents' best interests. Therapy services are singled out as particularly strong, described as "marvelous," and general nursing/clinical care is described as good. The facility is frequently called clean and well-kept, which contributes to a favorable impression.

Staff and care quality form the strongest theme. Reviewers consistently note that staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive; several comments emphasize that staff seem to take pride in resident well-being. Both nursing and therapy teams receive positive mentions, suggesting that clinical care and rehabilitative services are reliable. That said, there are isolated reports of staff apathy; one or more reviewers felt staff (and in some cases administration) were indifferent in specific situations. Those reports are less common than praise but significant because they point to unevenness in resident experience.

Facilities and amenities are generally viewed positively but not uniformly modern. The building and common areas are described as clean and maintained, with conveniences such as an on-site beauty shop and an open activity room. At the same time, reviewers note the facilities are "not completely up-to-date," indicating some areas may be older or due for renovation. Pricing is mentioned favorably by at least one reviewer who calls the monthly rate of $7,200 reasonably priced compared to other options, which may make the facility attractive for value-conscious families.

Dining receives mixed but mostly good feedback. Several reviewers say meals are "great and adequate," and dining activities exist; however, there are practical complaints such as difficulty pulling meat off the bone that affected a resident's ability to eat comfortably. Another theme is that the dining room is not always used by some residents, which could reflect personal preference, mobility/health limitations, or pandemic-era habits that have persisted.

Activities and recreation are an important positive. The facility offers a variety of programs — music, bingo, arts and crafts, scheduled recreation — and hosts special events like musician visits and a ball game party. Reviewers note an activity room is open regularly and there is at least one larger activity each week. However, activity frequency and access have been affected by quarantines or other restrictions at times, and a few reviewers implied that the number of major events could be higher than "about once a week." Overall, programming exists and is appreciated, but it can be limited by temporary restrictions or scheduling.

Notable concerns center on resident rooming arrangements, security, and management responsiveness. A change to shared rooms left at least one resident dissatisfied and several reviewers expressed a desire for more single-occupancy private rooms. Security is a clear worry for some families: there are reports of jewelry being stolen, including expensive items, and those incidents led to perceptions of staff or administration apathy in handling the situation. These theft/security issues and perceived management indifference are the most serious negative patterns in the reviews and could significantly affect trust.

In summary, Chulio Hills Health And Rehab appears to deliver solid, compassionate day-to-day care with strong therapy services, friendly staff, and a clean environment at a competitive price point. The activities program and on-site amenities add to resident quality of life, though the frequency of big events is moderate and has been impacted by quarantines. The main areas for improvement are modernization of some facility elements, clearer options for single-occupancy rooms, stronger safeguards for resident belongings, and better responsiveness from administration when concerns arise. Prospective residents and families should weigh the strong clinical and caregiving positives against the security/management concerns and rooming preferences when considering this facility.
