    Unsafe neglectful care and management

I would not recommend this facility. Management is poor and punitive, nursing is inconsistent and severely understaffed-residents were often ignored, demeaned, over-medicated, left in unsafe situations (falls, missed wound care, other safety incidents), and the facility suffered from bad communication, difficult discharges, filthy rooms/bathrooms, minimal activities and poor food despite high cost. A few support staff and some therapists were kind and helpful, but their efforts couldn't make up for the unsafe, neglectful care.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly mixed but predominantly negative. Several reviewers note positive interactions with specific staff members—particularly therapists and some support or non-nursing staff who are described as kind, polite, caring, and accommodating. A few reviews mention a spacious room and that the facility “looks nice” or offers activities. However, these positives are often overshadowed by repeated, serious complaints about clinical care, safety, cleanliness, and management.

Care quality and clinical oversight emerge as primary concerns. Multiple reports indicate inconsistent and poor nursing care: long waits for toileting assistance, soiled diapers left unchanged, dried feces on toilet seats, and urine on bathroom floors. There are multiple accounts of delays in essential treatments, including tracheostomy care and oxygen management. Several reviews describe adverse outcomes including falls, serious safety incidents (a patient falling out a window; a patient stabbed by a visitor; a patient ingesting wound-care gel left unsupervised), and at least one report of a patient death. Therapists are often singled out as a bright spot—some reviewers report good progress with physical therapy—yet other reviews report no therapies provided at all, or that sessions were run by graduate students or that regular therapists were absent. The presence of a single physician allegedly covering 250+ patients is mentioned as contributing to limited medical oversight and communication.

Staffing, communication, and accountability are recurring themes. Reviewers frequently note poor communication—misinformation about infections and doctor visits, calls not returned, limited family contact, and overall lack of transparency (including apparent absence of COVID visitor warnings). Weekends are repeatedly cited as times of understaffing and perceived neglect. Many comments distinguish between helpful non-nursing staff (therapy aides, support staff) and inconsistent or hostile nursing staff. Management is criticized for punitive behavior, a rigid merit/badge system, alleged wrongful discharge of employees, and overall poor leadership or accountability. Social work and administrative contacts are described as negative or unknown by some reviewers.

Facility condition and safety concerns are prominent. While some reviewers say the facility appears nice, others report filthy conditions: debris under beds, vents emitting foul smells, taped cords on beds, and general uncleanliness. These hygiene issues, combined with reports of inadequate toileting care and unsanitary bathrooms, raise red flags about infection control and resident dignity. Dining complaints include minimal or cold food, unappetizing and unhealthy meals. Activity programming is inconsistent: a few reviewers note many activities, while others report no activities and resident disengagement.

Patterns suggest variability in resident experiences—some families encountered attentive therapists and caring support staff, while others experienced neglect, safety lapses, and poor responsiveness from nurses and management. The most frequently mentioned and serious concerns involve patient safety (falls, wounds, critical delays), hygiene and cleanliness issues, poor communication with families, and questionable staffing/oversight practices. Several reviewers explicitly say they would not recommend the facility, or that they plan to leave. Given the gravity and recurrence of clinical and safety complaints paired with management and communication failures, prospective residents and families should exercise caution, verify current staffing and clinical protocols, ask for up-to-date infection and incident records, and seek independent assessments before choosing this facility.
