    Excellent care, immaculate, cramped, inedible

I'm relieved my mom is happy — therapy and rehab are excellent, staff are mostly professional, caring, and the facility is immaculate with a good nurse‑to‑patient ratio; however the rooms are small, the food is awful, and some nurses/aides can be unfriendly or slow.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is mixed but leans positive around cleanliness, professionalism, and therapy, with notable negative recurring themes related to dining, room size, and inconsistent interpersonal care. Multiple reviewers emphasize that the facility is immaculate and professionally run, with clean uniforms and pleasant amenities. That strong first impression appears to be consistent across visits or tours and contributes to an overall sense that the center is well-maintained and managed.

Care quality and staffing are frequently praised but also show variability. Several summaries highlight friendly, caring staff and a favorable nurse-to-patient ratio, with staff who demonstrate a professional and positive attitude. These factors contribute to reports that therapy and rehab services are "awesome" and that family members feel relieved and satisfied with outcomes for their loved ones. At the same time, there are distinct comments indicating that some nurses and aides can be unfriendly and that staff responsiveness can be slow. This inconsistency suggests that while many staff members deliver excellent care, experiences can vary depending on which individuals are on duty.

Therapy and rehab are among the facility's strongest attributes. Multiple reviewers explicitly praise the rehab programs and the quality of therapy, and one reviewer notes that their mother is happy and relieved by the care received. However, a recurring caveat is that rehab quality can depend on the specific staff assigned; when staffing and individual staff attitudes are strong, rehabilitation outcomes are very positive, but when staff engagement is weaker the experience and results may decline.

Facilities and amenities receive positive comments: the building is described as clean and professionally maintained, with nice amenities that enhance resident comfort. The only physical space-related complaint that appears repeatedly is that rooms are small. Room size is a tangible downside for some residents or families, and it can affect comfort during longer stays.

Dining is the clearest negative trend across the summaries. Multiple reviewers refer to the food as "awful" or the "worst food quality," indicating a consistent dissatisfaction that stands in contrast to the otherwise positive remarks about cleanliness and staff professionalism. Because meals are a daily and highly visible part of resident life, poor dining quality is a significant and recurring concern.

In summary, The Five Towns Premier Rehab & Nursing Center seems to offer strong clinical and rehabilitation services within a clean, well-run environment staffed by many professional and caring employees. The most important areas for improvement based on these reviews are dining quality, room size, and staff consistency — specifically addressing unfriendly interactions and delays in care. Families can expect high-quality therapy and generally attentive staff, but occasional variability in interpersonal care and meal quality may affect the overall resident experience.

About The Five Towns Premier Rehab & Nursing Center

The Five Towns Premier Rehab & Nursing Center sits at 1050 Central Ave in Woodmere, New York, and people who come here find skilled nursing care, short-term rehab, sub-acute care, and long-term support, with a big focus on individualized treatment in a culturally sensitive setting, including special programs for Russian speakers with Russian TV, books, newspapers, and bilingual staff, so everyone feels included. The building has 336 beds and normally houses about 267 residents each day, and you'll find large private or shared rooms with plush beds, flat-screen TVs, bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, and private wardrobe space, so comfort's given some thought, and there are also lounges with soft chairs, fireplaces, and bookcases for relaxing. Nurses provide about 4 hours of care per resident each day, which is higher than some places, and nurse turnover is lower than in many New York facilities, but this doesn't mean there aren't problems, since the place has gotten inspection reports with 13 cited deficiencies, including issues with resident assessments, pressure ulcer care, pharmaceutical services, and ways to handle infections, which federal standards say should keep residents safer. Ownership comes directly from Benjamin Landa, Mikols Gottlieb, and some others, and the place runs as a for-profit corporation, separate from larger nonprofit chains.

People come here for all sorts of rehab and care, as there's a gym that's about 4,800 square feet looking much like a health club, with equipment for things like therapeutic ultrasound and electrical stimulation, a suite for practicing daily living tasks, and more advanced technology for better therapies. There are programs for stroke recovery, bariatric care, wound care, in-house dialysis at a center with 14 chairs for hemodialysis, a ventilator unit equipped for round-the-clock help, and specialized staff including board-certified nephrologists and respiratory therapists. A person might receive physical, occupational, and speech therapy, or get pain management, palliative, and respite care, and there's also priority on educational resources and specialty care services across areas like nephrology, vascular, endocrinology, gynecology, infusion, podiatry, rheumatology, and urology. PRINE Health medical divisions handle some services too, including kidney and dialysis care, research, and special PRINEd services.

Meals come from a Glatt Kosher kitchen under strict supervision, and they're served restaurant-style with several healthy choices, making it easier for residents with cultural or religious dietary needs. For those who enjoy some pampering, there's a salon with shampoos, perms, color, cuts, and manicures, and for recreation, the staff has organized activities like karaoke, bingo, movie afternoons, ice cream socials, and religious services. Families should know the center has had past trouble with infection-related problems and other federal violations, based on the public survey reports, but there are ongoing programs and resources for staff training and resident education to address these areas. People can use an online patient portal to check health information, and the facility regularly posts job opportunities for those interested in healthcare. At The Five Towns Premier Rehab & Nursing Center, you'll get specialized nursing, medical care, therapy, kosher food, cultural programs, and some modern amenities, though it's wise to review inspection reports for the most recent quality details before making decisions.
