    About Greenville Post Acute

Greenville Post Acute sits at 661 Rutherford Rd in Greenville, South Carolina, and has 132 Medicare-Certified beds, though there are around 126 residents on average each day so it's usually pretty full and sometimes folks are three or four to a room, which can mean you get stuck with a roommate who likes their TV loud and blaring no matter what time it is. The place is tied to the Pacs Group and it's run by people named Kushunda Beasley, Chacey Bryan, and Grant Dixon, with an Administrator, Director of Nursing, and Assistant Director of Nursing all involved in managing the care and trying to keep things on track, though, to tell the truth, some folks have called it a real dump, saying it smells bad, looks dirty, needs repair, and just doesn't feel cared for, and sometimes when a new resident arrives they have to wait a long time just to get their medication, in one case up to 18 hours, or try calling in and can't get anyone to answer or call back. Staff turnover for nurses runs about 36.3% and there's 3.19 nurse staffing hours per resident per day, which gets tracked so you know how much care folks get, and they do have a wound care RN who people call reliable, compassionate, and hardworking. You'll find some therapy programs, too; they've got onsite occupational, speech, and physical therapy, with speech therapy aimed at helping with talking, swallowing, and thinking skills, and occupational therapy helping folks learn how to handle daily tasks again, and the gym for therapy is apparently one of the largest in the state which helps folks get the rehab they need, though more than one person has said the physical therapists work the patients pretty hard, which can be a good thing or not, depending on what you want. They say their mission is to offer healing and compassionate care to older, frail, or disabled people, including dementia care, pharmacy services to cut down on medication mistakes, infection control to keep germs from spreading, and some social services to try helping with life's changes, and the care team is supposed to give each resident a complete care plan, though sometimes families complain that the nurses don't always know what the patient needs. They've got a range of services focused on post-acute recovery, which means people come here after a hospital stay to try and get back on their feet before heading home, and they've won awards for their work, though the general feeling is you get what you get, some good, some not so good, and it depends a lot on what you expect and what you can put up with.
