    Great therapy but terrible administration

I had a mixed, ultimately painful experience. The rehab/physical and occupational therapy team was outstanding, and the facility was spotless - my private room with bathroom, TV and nice view was very convenient for family. Nursing/CNAs were often caring and hardworking, but inconsistent: some staff were rude or forgetful, call-buttons were slow, showers were often unavailable (bed baths only), and communication was poor. Food was terrible (overcooked and mushy). Administration was difficult and not trustworthy; poor leadership and communication - including an unexpected discharge - and a lack of dignity/compassion culminated in my mother passing after a 10-day stay, so despite great therapy and cleanliness I cannot recommend this place.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is mixed but consistent in several key areas. The strongest and most uniformly positive theme is rehabilitation: multiple reviewers describe the physical and occupational therapy teams as outstanding, effective, top-notch, and a primary reason for choosing or recommending the community. Reviewers repeatedly praise the rehab department for its skill and results, and that appears to be a core strength of Lakebridge - A Waters Community.

Facility cleanliness and private-room accommodations are also frequently praised. Many reviewers note that the community is very clean, rooms are spotless, bathrooms are well kept, and private rooms often include a sink, own bathroom, adequate space, and attractive views. Room amenities such as a TV and telephone were mentioned positively, and several families appreciated that full tours are offered and that memory care is available and recommended by some reviewers.

Staffing and caregiving receive more nuanced feedback. Numerous reviews commend CNAs and many nurses as caring, hardworking, and generally impressive; office personnel and the social worker are described as friendly and helpful. However, several reviews raise serious concerns about inconsistency in care and staff behavior. Specific problems mentioned include slow response to call buttons, nurses or aides forgetting residents, rude or uncaring staff in some instances, and limited bathing options (reports of showers being unavailable and residents receiving bed baths). A few reviews describe severe negative outcomes tied to these issues: an unexpected discharge that led to hospitalization for pneumonia, and another report of a resident passing after a 10-day stay. These accounts suggest variability in day-to-day care quality and occasional lapses with significant consequences.

Dining and food quality are a clear pain point for many reviewers. Multiple summaries call the food terrible, overcooked, mushy, or unappetizing. That said, a minority of reviews contradicted this, describing the food as marvelous — indicating inconsistency in dining experiences or possible changes over time. Because dining is a common day-to-day touchpoint for residents and families, the mixed-to-negative comments on food quality stand out as an area needing attention.

Management and communication emerge as another mixed area. Several reviewers report poor staff communication, problems with care transitions (including discharge without adequate notice), and a perception that leadership at one point lacked accountability—an administrator was described as difficult to work with and not trustworthy. Conversely, at least one summary mentions a change in leadership (new administrator and head of nursing) with positive effects and welcomed changes. This suggests that while past management and communication problems impacted some families negatively, there may be efforts underway to address those concerns.

Other operational issues raised include reports of overcrowding at times and inconsistent bathing/shower availability. Overall, the pattern across reviews is that Lakebridge offers strong rehabilitation services, clean facilities, private rooms, and many caring staff members, making it a good option for short-term rehab or families prioritizing therapy and facility cleanliness. However, repeated concerns about dining quality, inconsistent caregiving behavior, response times to call buttons, care transitions, and past management problems warrant caution. Prospective residents and families should consider visiting, ask specifically about recent leadership changes, staff-to-resident ratios, call response times, bathing/shower availability, and sample meals to gauge whether current conditions match the positive aspects highlighted or reflect the negative experiences some reviewers reported.
