    Clean, professional, compassionate care, activities

I placed my mom here and was impressed: very clean, professionally run, with friendly, attentive staff (even kitchen and admins know residents and families by name) and excellent, compassionate medical care. The activity coordinator keeps everyone engaged with bingo, music and parties, and although the older building is basic and not fancy, administrators are hands-on, concerns are acted on, and in-house hospice/family accommodations were available.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive about the quality of care, the staff, and the management at Belcourt Terrace Nursing Home. Multiple reviewers emphasize clinical competence — staff are described as well-trained and professional, and medical care is characterized as exceptional. Dignity and compassion are repeatedly mentioned, indicating that residents are treated respectfully and with empathy. The presence of in-house hospice care is noted, which suggests the facility can support residents through end-of-life needs without requiring external transfers.

Staffing and management are standout themes. Reviewers consistently praise a hands-on, highly regarded administrator and describe management as attentive and responsive. An open-door policy and a pattern of concerns being heard and acted upon are cited, which points to accessible leadership and good communication with families. Many comments note that staff know residents and family members by name, including references to kitchen staff who recognize patients, reinforcing a picture of personalized, familiar care rather than impersonal institutional routines.

The social and activity environment receives frequent positive mention. The activity coordinator is described as wonderful and there is an active program including bingo, music, parties, and sing-alongs that help lighten the mood and engage residents. Reviewers report friendly residents and a caring atmosphere, suggesting that social life and emotional well-being are important components of daily life at the facility.

Facility condition and amenities are the primary area of concern. Several reviews describe Belcourt Terrace as very basic, not fancy, and housed in an older building. While this is framed as a drawback for families seeking upscale accommodations or modern amenities, it is tempered by consistent comments about cleanliness and professional operation — the building may be older and spare but it is kept very clean and is well-managed. One reviewer noted that families were provided bed and meals during a stay, indicating some flexibility and family-oriented policies despite the basic surroundings.

Dining and daily operations are portrayed positively in functional terms: the kitchen staff are attentive and know patients by name, and the facility is described as professionally run. There is no indication in the reviews of systemic problems with safety, hygiene, or care quality; instead, concerns are limited to aesthetic and amenity-related issues. In summary, Belcourt Terrace appears to be a compassionate, clinically competent, and well-managed nursing home that prioritizes personalized care and resident engagement over luxury finishes. It is likely a good fit for families and residents who value strong staff relationships, responsive leadership, and active programming, while those seeking modern or upscale accommodations may find it too basic.

    About Belcourt Terrace Nursing Home

Belcourt Terrace Nursing Home sits at 1710 Belcourt Avenue in Nashville, Tennessee, and serves as a supportive place for older adults needing help with daily living or nursing support. The facility has 49 certified beds and currently houses about 39 residents, keeping things peaceful and not too crowded at an 80% occupancy rate, and folks can choose between private or shared rooms. Staff-registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nurse aides-cover about 1.66 staff hours per resident daily, offering nursing, rehab, and assisted living services. Residents get help with things like bathing or getting dressed, as well as memory care and support for medical needs, including care for pressure sores, catheters, or incontinence, and staff check regularly on mobility or changes in health and mood, with about 9% of residents getting support for depression or anxiety and 21% needing more help over time.

People also have access to a senior living counselor who offers information and support, and there are resources to help residents and families understand their choices. The nursing home gives out flu and pneumococcal shots as part of long-term care, and most residents receive these vaccinations each year. The community runs health inspections and publishes nurse staffing and quality reports but does not take part in the Quality Indicator Survey or have a federal Special Focus Facility label. The facility stands on its own, not within a hospital, and there's no continuing care retirement community on site, though it does act as a long-term and intermediate care center, serving folks who can't live alone safely but who don't always need the deepest level of skilled nursing care around the clock.

Belcourt Terrace offers several care types and features, such as respite care for short-term stays, memory care for dementia and Alzheimer's, senior home care courses, and training opportunities for caregivers, including Medicaid and dementia certification programs. The team works to create a comfortable, friendly atmosphere and keeps things lively with activities and programs that have won awards for friendliness and keeping people active and engaged. There's a resident and family council for sharing concerns or ideas, while housekeeping, laundry, and dining services help keep daily life running smoothly, with one or two chef-planned meals served each day. Belcourt Terrace also supports families and caregivers with resources like a blog and caregiver training, and it invites prospective residents and their families to tour the community and meet with staff.

With for-profit, corporate ownership and acceptance of both Medicare and Medicaid, Belcourt Terrace Nursing Home supports seniors needing anything from short-term rehab after surgery to long-term care if their needs grow. The entire building uses sprinklers for safety, and medical and nursing services are always available for those with serious illnesses or disabilities. With regular assessments and personal care plans, Belcourt Terrace works to keep residents comfortable, safe, and connected, whether they're there for independent living, assisted living, nursing or memory care, all within a friendly community that tries to put people first.
