    Clean friendly attentive secure care

I placed my dad here and overall I’m pleased — the building and rooms are very clean, staff are friendly, knowledgeable and responsive (they notify us of changes and even provided clothing on arrival), and his care and support have been excellent. The open dining/activity area, three meals a day and piano entertainment help keep him engaged and aides interact well with residents. The facility is secure (buzz-in, locked unit, wandering bracelet) which gives me peace of mind, though it’s far from us and understaffing can cause occasional wait times.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is positive, with multiple reviewers emphasizing strong communication, attentive caregiving, and a clean, secure environment. Families report that staff are responsive — keeping them informed about changes in condition and communicating promptly — and that aides actively interact with residents, providing both personal care and emotional support. Specific examples cited include staff helping a family member ("helped dad"), expressing concern for residents' wellbeing, and delivering "excellent care and support." The facility’s appearance and cleanliness are noted repeatedly as strengths: reviewers describe very clean rooms and a well-maintained overall facility.

Facility features and daily life are described favorably. Residents receive three meals daily and have access to an open dining and activity area that supports socialization. Entertainment and programming are present, with piano entertainment mentioned specifically, indicating efforts to provide recreational engagement. Practical conveniences are also appreciated: clothing is provided on arrival, and staff notify families when a resident’s condition changes. Safety measures are prominent positives — the building has secure entry (buzz-in and locked unit) and a wandering bracelet system to reduce elopement risk, which offers reassurance to families concerned about safety.

Staff quality is a central theme. Reviewers consistently describe staff as friendly and knowledgeable; aides are characterized as engaged with residents rather than distant. Communication is highlighted as excellent, with families feeling kept in the loop about medical or behavioral changes. This combination of competent caregiving, good communication, and evident concern for residents contributes to an overall impression of compassionate and effective care.

The main concerns are operational rather than clinical. Several reviews raise understaffing and resultant wait times as notable negatives. While staff are described as caring and responsive, limited staffing levels appear to cause delays when residents need immediate assistance. This suggests the staff are committed but stretched, which can impact timeliness of care even if the quality of care remains high. Another recurring practical drawback is the facility’s distance for some families; the location is described as "far," which can make regular visits or hands-on family involvement more difficult.

In summary, reviews portray Chase City Health And Rehab Center as a well-kept, secure, and compassionate facility with strong communication and meaningful resident engagement. The strengths cluster around cleanliness, safety features, supportive staff, and available activities and meals. The primary areas for improvement are staffing levels and reducing wait times, and the facility’s location may be inconvenient for some family members. Overall impression: a caring environment with good safety and cleanliness practices, where operational constraints like staffing create the most noteworthy challenges.
