    Excellent location, meals, caring staff

I chose Premier for its location and I'm very glad I did. The meals are wonderful and tailored to residents' preferences (the desserts are a highlight), the staff are caring and easy to communicate with, the facility is very clean, and they treat residents like family - I would highly recommend Premier.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews present a mixed picture: reviewers consistently highlight strengths in dining, interpersonal care, and facility upkeep, while also signaling an overarching operational concern related to an imminent shutdown. The positive comments describe an environment that many families and residents find comfortable and personally attentive; however, the reported closure creates uncertainty about the facility's near-term ability to maintain those standards.

Care and staff: Reviewers describe staff as caring, compassionate and easy to communicate with, and they frequently characterize staff–resident interactions as family-like. Those comments suggest strengths in day-to-day interpersonal care and responsiveness. The available summaries do not provide detailed clinical metrics (medication management, nursing-staff ratios, or clinical outcome data), so clinical-quality conclusions should be made with additional direct inquiry.

Dining: Dining is a clear area of strength. Comments emphasize well-prepared meals, menus tailored to resident preferences, and an emphasis on desserts and other favored offerings. This suggests an attentive dining program that accommodates individual tastes and provides consistent meal satisfaction.

Activities: Review content provided little or no specific information about organized activities or engagement programming. The absence of commentary on activities is a notable information gap; prospective residents and family members may wish to ask directly about the scope, frequency, and variety of social and recreational programming.

Facilities: The facility is described as clean and well maintained, which aligns with impressions of a comfortable physical environment. Cleanliness and upkeep are cited as positive, supporting a generally pleasant living space.

Management and notable patterns: The most significant concern in the reviews is an indication of an impending shutdown and a general "negative overall situation." That raises facility-level risks: potential service interruptions, uncertainty around staff retention, and the need for resident transitions. These are operational and financial stability issues rather than isolated care-quality complaints, but they have direct implications for continuity of care and resident well-being. Prospective residents and families should verify current operational status, plans for any transitions, and how continuity of care would be handled if the facility closes.

Overall, the facility is portrayed as strong in hospitality-style care (meals, cleanliness, and staff rapport) but faces a critical management-level risk that could disrupt services. Where positive attributes matter—location, dining, and interpersonal staff qualities—those appear consistent in available summaries; where data are lacking—clinical performance and activities—families should seek specific information. The impending closure note is the dominant negative pattern and should be clarified before making placement decisions.

    About Premier Assisted Living

Premier Assisted Living sits on a quiet 10-acre wooded property at 155 Egg and Butter Road in Columbiana. The place offers both assisted living and memory care, and the folks who run it are local, so you'll see familiar faces and a real hands-on approach. There are 16 private rooms and baths, and the building has both private and shared living options, including studio apartments and suites, all fully furnished with kitchenettes, private bathrooms, air conditioning, cable TV, WiFi, and phone service. Residents find maintenance-free living here-housekeeping, laundry, linen services, and all meals are taken care of, with the kitchen using organic food and custom diets for diabetics, vegetarians, those on low fat or low salt, and even kosher meals.

Safety features like wheelchair-accessible showers, 24-hour supervision, a call system, and awake staff help folks feel secure while still encouraging as much independence as possible. Staff members stay consistent each week, so residents get to know who's helping them. Various care plans are set up for each person, whether they need a little support with daily living or more advanced memory care for Alzheimer's or dementia, and the facility has occupational and physical therapy, medication management, incontinence care, and non-ambulatory support as needed. Skilled nursing, hospice, in-home care, and respite stays are available too.

Recreational spaces include indoor and outdoor common areas, patios, arts and crafts rooms, TV lounges, and gardens. Residents often join group activities like music, games, movie nights, Wii bowling, storytime, creative arts classes, and gardening. There's also a musical group, shopping trips, and social hobbies, plus salon and barber services, fitness programs, and devotional services both on and offsite. Meals are served in communal dining rooms, with options for guests, and staff arrange transportation to doctor's appointments or shopping.

Memory care staff have specific training to support folks living with Alzheimer's or dementia, with a dedicated memory care wing offering a structured schedule and personalized support. The place doesn't allow pets inside, but guests can park onsite, and there's always help with VA Aid and insurance for payments. Religious services, cable TV in common rooms, all-inclusive pricing, and a community management platform help residents and families stay connected and informed. The facility is state licensed and accredited. All in all, Premier Assisted Living is a straightforward, well-run place with clear routines, local values, and services tailored for comfort, safety, and dignity.
