    Exceptional care, beautiful, welcoming community

I placed a loved one at Keystone of Florence and couldn't be happier. The staff - from administrator Jodi and nurse Loretta to the kitchen and care teams - are loving, attentive, and truly went above and beyond; they feel like family. The facility is beautiful and upscale with a hotel-like, homey vibe (grand piano, theatre, high ceilings), spotless and wheelchair accessible. Meals are fresh, home-style, and accommodate allergies; residents are encouraged to socialize in a safe, active community of about 44 people. Exceptional care and peace of mind - just double-check current fees as pricing can be higher than listed.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for Keestone of Florence is strongly positive. Reviewers repeatedly emphasize the facility's upscale, hotel-like appearance, intimate size, and downtown location. Many reviewers describe the building and common areas as beautiful and well-maintained — with features such as high ceilings, stacked stone, dark wood finishes, a grand piano in the lobby, and a small theatre — contributing to a pleasant and refined atmosphere. The community’s boutique scale (approximately 44 residents) is frequently cited as a benefit, producing a close-knit, home-like environment where staff and residents get to know one another by name.

Care quality and staff interactions are among the most consistent strengths noted. Multiple reviews call out the staff as compassionate, attentive, and family-like; several reviewers describe staff going above and beyond during difficult times, providing peace of mind to families. Management and leadership receive praise for being proactive, flexible, and accommodating; specific staff members are named positively (administrator Jodi and nursing staff Loretta). Reviewers mention solid communication, including around COVID safety, and report that staff check on dietary needs and special accommodations, which adds to residents’ sense of being cared for.

The facility’s amenities and physical layout are consistently commended. Rooms are described as beautifully furnished, clean, and cheerful, often with a small kitchenette (college-size refrigerator and microwave) and tile in the bathroom and entry. Public spaces — including an in-house bistro/coffee station near the entrance, dining room with linen tablecloths, and small theater — are highlighted as enhancing the resident experience and supporting social life. Accessibility features (wheelchair access) are noted positively, as are frequent seasonal decorations and an active effort to encourage resident interaction.

Dining and dietary accommodations stand out as a strong point. Reviewers repeatedly praise the food — calling it fresh, home-style, and well-flavored — and highlight the staff’s attentiveness to special diets (celiac disease, allergies). The dining ambiance, with extra touches like linen tablecloths and manager oversight of available foods, contributes to a positive meal-time experience that many reviewers compare favorably to other facilities.

Activities and community engagement are generally positive but show some variability. Several reviews praise staff encouragement of resident interaction and a warm, social atmosphere; multiple reviewers cite lots of activities and events. However, at least one reviewer explicitly noted that Keestone had fewer activities compared to peer communities, so programming strength may depend on individual expectations or comparisons. The small size that fosters intimacy may also limit the scale or variety of activities available versus larger communities.

Cost and logistics are the main recurring concerns. A few reviewers reported budget constraints or surprise at price differences (one mention of an extra $200/month and a price discrepancy between online advertising and actual costs). Room limitations were also mentioned — specifically that certain rooms could not accommodate two people — and the policy against cooking in rooms was stated. One reviewer found an alternative community to be more personable during the tour process and better at assisting with move-in details, indicating that while most tours and staff interactions were excellent, individual experiences can vary.

In summary, Keestone of Florence is portrayed across reviews as a high-quality, boutique senior living community with standout staff, attractive facilities, and well-regarded dining and dietary accommodations. The intimate size and attentive culture deliver a family-like atmosphere and strong individualized care for many residents. Prospective residents and families should be aware of potential cost differences from advertised pricing, verify room configurations if accommodating two people is needed, and confirm activity programming meets their expectations. For families prioritizing personalized care, a hotel-like environment, and vigilant dietary and safety practices, the community receives consistently high recommendations from reviewers.
