    About Azalea Health and Rehab

Azalea Health and Rehab sits over on Spring Hill Avenue in Mobile, Alabama, and you'll find it's a bigger nursing home with 170 beds and an average of about 72 folks living there every day, so it's by no means empty but doesn't feel overcrowded either, and they do a little bit of everything because they take folks needing help for a short time after the hospital, people staying awhile, and those looking for independent, assisted, memory care, hospice, or some extra home-based support for folks that still want to stay in their own place. You'll find plenty of staff around, including certified nursing assistants, licensed practical nurses such as Carol Letcher, charge nurses like Shannon Reed, and office folks including Denise Frederick, along with registered nurses, therapists, and dietitians, and all together these folks work to make sure everybody has a care plan that tries to fit what each person needs without making a lot of noise about it. There are special care beds for folks with Alzheimer's and they set up memory care, and if you need rehab, you'll see physical therapy, occupational therapy, wound care, speech therapy, and even nutritional counseling, all on the property, and they help out with the daily things-like bathing, dressing, getting to the bathroom, taking medicine, moving around, setting up meals, and they'll drive you to an appointment if you need it, and you'll get to eat food made from organic ingredients. People can pick from private or shared rooms, all of them furnished, with kitchenettes, private bathrooms, air-conditioning, internet, cable TVs, and phones, so you don't feel cut off from the world. The building's got a nurse on site around the clock, a nurse quality grade up at A+, and all the staff work on keeping things safe and steady especially for folks who need close watching because of medical conditions, and they'll help in other areas too-there's dental services, labs, a pharmacy, meals managed by dietitians, housekeeping, podiatry, mental health support, and all sorts of therapy and activity programs you can join if you like. They take both Medicare and Medicaid, and offer Respite Care if someone just needs a break, along with Adult Day Services for people not ready for full-time care, and Home Health Care for folks who are still at home but need nursing or therapy visits. They've got a website if you want to see pictures or check out all their services or set up a tour, and even though they're for-profit, all the reviews and historical grades are mostly As, with a few Bs showing up now and then for short-term care but mostly solid A ratings, so while the place isn't brand new or flashy, and it runs like a business, the staff know what they're doing, and most people stay safe and get the help they need.
