    Compassionate staff but administrative issues

I've been deeply impressed by the compassionate, highly skilled staff - nurses, CNAs, rehab and activities teams - and by the clean, welcoming facility, strong rehab outcomes, and generally good meals. At the same time I've seen/ heard troubling administrative and communication problems (billing/payroll irregularities, discouraged visits and occasional lapses in care). Overall I recommend this place for the staff and quality of hands-on care, but advise families to be vigilant about administrative and financial issues.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is mixed but leans strongly toward praise for front-line care, rehabilitation services, and facility cleanliness, while also containing several serious concerns about administration, compliance, and billing. The majority of reviewers repeatedly emphasize the compassion, attentiveness and skill of nurses, CNAs, therapists and other staff. Many describe a family-like culture where staff know residents by name, go above and beyond, and form strong relationships with families. Rehab and physical therapy receive very high marks across multiple reviews, with several reviewers calling the rehab program the best and reporting excellent outcomes. Housekeeping and cleanliness are also consistently praised: the building is described as spotlessly clean, cheerful, and free of unpleasant odors. Multiple special events and activities (Fall Festival, trunk-or-treat) are highlighted as positives that contribute to an engaging atmosphere during daytime hours.

Staff and leadership receive strong, repeated commendations: reviewers note dedicated and prideful caregivers, administrators who lead by example, and senior leaders such as the CEO who check on employees and residents. Admissions and check-in are described as efficient and welcoming. Food quality is generally described positively in taste and portion; a few menu items are singled out positively (for example, grilled cheese). Transportation/drivers and friendly front-desk interactions are also mentioned as strengths. Long-term residents and families frequently report high satisfaction over months or years of care, and many reviewers explicitly recommend the facility for both short-term rehab and long-term care.

Despite these favorable patterns, there are multiple, significant negative themes that require attention. Several reviews allege serious regulatory and legal problems: mentions include state agency investigations, alleged Medicare and Medicaid violations, residents' rights violations, Power of Attorney and court-ordered guardianship violations, and unethical billing practices. These are serious claims reported by reviewers and stand in stark contrast to the otherwise positive comments about front-line staff; they point to potential systemic administrative or compliance failures. Related administrative complaints include reports of HIPAA/privacy breaches, poor communication or discouraging family visits, payroll issues (staff payroll unresolved for two weeks reported), and underhanded financial/billing concerns. Some families also reported disrespectful administration and subpar care in specific cases (neglect of diapering or special needs, and at least one COVID-19 related illness and death noted), indicating that care consistency may vary.

Dining and activities show mixed feedback: while meals are generally described as tasty and plentiful, several reviewers specifically request more vegetable variety and additional salad dressing choices. Daytime activities and special events are praised as engaging, but evenings and after-dinner time are frequently described as slow or lacking structured programming. Scheduling conflicts (for example, medical appointments overlapping with popular activities like Bingo) were mentioned as an operational annoyance by at least one reviewer.

In summary, the dominant themes are a highly praised, hands-on caregiving staff, excellent rehabilitation services, and a clean, welcoming environment that many residents and families highly recommend. Counterbalancing this are serious, recurring allegations related to administration, compliance, billing and resident rights that cannot be dismissed and suggest risk areas beyond daily caregiving—specifically in financial management, regulatory adherence, privacy/communication, and consistent administrative conduct. Prospective residents and families should weigh the strong frontline care and rehab reputation against the reported administrative and compliance concerns, and consider asking facility leadership directly about investigations, billing practices, privacy safeguards, staffing/payroll stability, and evening activity programming before deciding.
