    Friendly professional staff; excellent rehab

I had a very positive experience - the staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and professional, and the rehab/physical therapy team (Katie and crew) really helped with recovery. The facility is clean, warm and home-like, with responsive new leadership and strong respiratory and skilled-nursing services. I'd recommend this place for loved ones needing quality, compassionate care.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the provided review summaries for Citrus Heights Respiratory and Rehabilitation is strongly positive. Reviewers repeatedly highlight cleanliness, a pleasant-smelling environment, and an attractive, well-maintained building. The facility is described as beautiful and cozy, with warm, inviting common areas and multiple gathering spaces for families — features that support a comfortable atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.

Staff and quality of care are the most frequently praised elements. Reviews consistently call out the staff as friendly, warm, and compassionate; many remarks emphasize a ‘‘great team’’ and ‘‘wonderful staff.’’ Receptionists and front-desk interactions make a strong first impression, which contributes to positive perceptions from the moment visitors arrive. Clinical care receives high marks as well: reviewers singled out the physical rehabilitation program as excellent and repeatedly recommended the facility for rehab needs. The Director of Rehab, Katie, is named specifically and described as ‘‘amazing’’ for helping rehab patients improve — this personal endorsement indicates a standout clinician and strong leadership within the therapy department. The therapy room itself is noted as a positive asset.

Specialized services are also evident in the summaries: multiple mentions of respiratory care indicate that the facility provides focused services for residents with respiratory needs. Combined with the strong physical therapy and rehabilitation endorsements, the reviews suggest the facility is effective at delivering post-acute and therapy-focused care.

Management and operational changes appear in the reviews as well. Several summaries note new ownership, leadership changes, and a new name; these changes are described in a positive light overall, with reviewers saying the impression has improved and the facility now feels ‘‘worth considering for loved ones.’’ While the change in ownership is presented as an improvement by reviewers, it is also the primary potential concern reflected in the summaries — transitions in leadership can create uncertainty even when early impressions are favorable.

Notable patterns and gaps: reviewers overwhelmingly focus on staff, cleanliness, the rehabilitation program, and the physical environment. There are repeated statements of gratitude and recommendation, which indicate high satisfaction. However, the summaries do not provide information on some typical long-term-care topics such as dining quality, medication management, specific medical outcomes, activity programming beyond family gathering spaces, or staffing ratios. Because those topics are not mentioned, they represent areas where prospective families may want to request further details during a tour or conversation with administration.

In summary, the reviews portray Citrus Heights Respiratory and Rehabilitation as a clean, attractive, and welcoming facility with an exceptional therapy program and highly praised staff. The facility’s respiratory and rehabilitation services — and especially the Director of Rehab, Katie — receive strong, specific endorsements. Recent ownership and leadership changes are noted and appear to have had a positive impact on impressions, though they also represent a point to verify for long-term consistency. Prospective families should view this facility favorably based on the reviews provided, while asking targeted questions about dining, activities, staffing levels, and continuity of management to fill in the information not covered by the summaries.

About Citrus Heights Respiratory and Rehabilitation

Citrus Heights Respiratory and Rehabilitation is a healthcare facility operated by Bandera Healthcare, and they've got a strong focus on both respiratory and rehabilitation care, so you'll see that in just about everything they do, starting with specialized care programs for people with respiratory issues, such as pulmonary and ventilator care that involve health monitoring, respiratory therapy, and even home environment support for when someone goes back home, which helps folks who need oxygen therapy, ventilator support, or tracheostomy care. The facility offers all kinds of rehabilitation services, whether someone's there after a hospital stay or for long-term recovery, and they do things like physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, including post-surgery rehab and programs for people who've had strokes or live with bulbobasilar syndrome, all with the goal to help residents regain function and independence, so life can get a little easier over time.

There's also a lot of attention given to wound care, which includes everything from careful assessments to regular dressing changes and ongoing tracking of healing, and their cardiac rehab programs help people recover and build up their heart health with exercises and education focused on fitness, all with specialized nutrition and rehabilitation plans that get adjusted for each resident. For folks with memory issues, including Alzheimer's or other dementia, there's a memory care unit and a TBI/Dementia unit that gives personalized care in secured surroundings, aiming to help everyone be as independent and comfortable as possible, and they also provide behavioral health support in Level 1 & 2 secured units and care for people with high-acuity conditions, including bariatric accommodations and in-house dialysis.

If a resident just needs a little help day-to-day, or if more care is required, the facility has both independent and assisted living apartments, including studio and companion choices, with comfortable living spaces, walk-in showers, and outdoor relaxation spots, so people can pick what's right for them, and the staff helps with medication, bathing, grooming, meals, or even diabetic injections whenever needed. Behavioral health units, respite care for caregivers needing a break, and skilled nursing services for round-the-clock care are all part of the facility's spectrum, while advanced clinical services cover complex medical needs, including IV therapy and wound management.

Recent renovations have made the place more pleasant, so there are now more comfortable and updated amenities, like patios, art programs, social events, religious services, movies, and opportunities for card games or getting together with neighbors, which means folks have things to do if they want to mingle or keep their routines up. The staff, known for being both knowledgeable and caring, work alongside families and healthcare providers to make plans that fit each individual, and rehabilitation programs use the newest research and high-tech approaches along with hands-on therapy to make sure residents get the most suitable support for their needs.

Housekeeping, transportation, and meals are handled, and there are extra supports for those who need it, from help with dressing and toileting to skilled nursing for medical issues. The community is recognized for its quality care and focus on personal attention, and they try to create a comfortable place where people can feel respected and supported through both short-term recovery and long-term stays.
