    Compassionate, professional care and communication

I'm very pleased with the care my mom receives - respectful, loving staff and managers (Pam especially) who are professional, attentive and treat residents like family. The home is clean with great meals, in-house medical providers and hospice coordination, and their proactive family communication (WhatsApp/photos/FaceTime) and convenient logistics put us at ease. Overall excellent, compassionate care and a real asset to families, though there are a few minor things that could be tightened up.

    Summary of reviews

The collected reviews of Sunrise Care Homes - Hayden present a consistently positive picture centered on personalized, home-style care. Families emphasize compassionate, respectful interactions between staff and residents; caregivers are described as attentive, consistent, and willing to form close, family-like relationships with residents. Pain management and comfort are highlighted, and families report that residents were treated with dignity and received physical and emotional support that improved day-to-day comfort.

Clinical coordination is portrayed as a strength for the setting: reviews mention in-house medical providers and active hospice coordination when needed, along with proactive outreach during rehabilitation periods. Management and ownership presence is repeatedly noted as professional and hands-on; families point to prompt responsiveness to questions and proactive communication that includes regular photos and FaceTime sessions. These communication practices appear to put families at ease and create a strong sense of trust between families and staff.

Dining, housekeeping, and the physical environment receive uniformly favorable mentions. Reviewers describe well-prepared, enjoyable meals and attentive dining service, along with exceptionally clean and well-kept homes. The facility’s small, residential scale contributes to a relaxed, comfortable environment and allows staff to remember personal details such as favorite foods, birthdays, and hobbies, which supports individualized care.

Social life and activities in the homes are oriented toward connection and celebration: music time, birthday parties, and other social events are cited as part of the daily rhythm. Families describe staff who make an effort to engage residents in meaningful ways, creating social bonds that some characterize as friendships or family-like relationships.

There are operational patterns to consider. The group-home model that creates a strong, personalized atmosphere also implies limits: the homes appear to operate at a small scale, which can constrain bed availability and the range of advanced clinical or specialty services available on-site. Several reviews emphasize particular staff members and owners by name; while that reflects strong relationships, it also suggests operational dependence on a few key individuals. Communication is frequently handled via WhatsApp and FaceTime, which provides immediacy but may not substitute for a formal family-communication portal or comprehensive electronic documentation some families expect.

Overall, Sunrise Care Homes - Hayden is presented as a reliable choice for families seeking a small, clean, home-like setting with engaged, compassionate staff and strong family outreach. Prospective residents and families should confirm clinical capabilities relative to any advanced medical needs, ask about bed availability and contingency staffing plans, and clarify how clinical records and formal communications are documented in addition to the informal photo and video updates described by families.

About Sunrise Care Homes - Hayden

Sunrise Care Homes - Hayden sits at 13452 N. Hayden Road in Scottsdale, right north of Cactus Road and near the 101, nestled in a single-story 4,800-square-foot house with a comfortable open floor plan, large bedrooms that feel homelike, and antique-style design and furnishings that give it a welcoming touch. The care home's mission is to help seniors age with dignity and respect, always working to keep residents safe and comfortable while treating everyone with kindness and understanding. This small care home serves no more than 10 people at once, making the setting peaceful and personal, and it's been providing support for seniors and disabled adults since 2000. The staff, described by many as joyful, helpful, and kind, focus on creating a family-like atmosphere and give help to people who need extra support with daily living like bathing, dressing, and taking medicine, offering both private and semi-private rooms. The place features a lovely outdoor patio shaded with chairs and tables, landscaped grounds, and amenities that include recreation and fitness areas, Wi-Fi, high-speed internet, and handicap accessibility, plus large bedrooms and a relaxing, modern atmosphere. People can choose care plans that suit their needs, including help for those with memory troubles or who need help after traumatic injuries, and the staff is trained specifically for Alzheimer's and dementia care, with secured doors and outdoor areas for safety. Onsite doctors help watch health needs, and medication monitoring is part of daily life, along with three nutritious, tasty meals a day and varied dining choices. There's a special focus on companionship, activities, and programs so folks don't feel alone, and families often say the communication from staff is steady and honest. The home pays a lot of attention to residents' rights, and tours are available for those who want to see daily life or rooms before making a choice. The facilities are reviewed twice a year to keep licensing in good standing, and the homes have unique names for care areas like Sunnyvale and Shea, with some locations sitting on quiet land with modern finishes and open spaces, always designed to give seniors a peaceful and engaging place to live.
