    Highly recommended, compassionate, clean, skilled

I placed my mom at Elders Inn and I'm very pleased - the staff are professional, compassionate and skilled (great med management, rehab and wheelchair care), and the home is immaculately clean and beautiful with multiple courtyards, gardens and a full activities program (music, art, bingo). They handled COVID responsibly, communicated well, and made her feel safe and like family. Minor issues: an older building on a busy street, occasional rude front-desk and higher cost, but overall I highly recommend.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews of Elders Inn are predominantly positive, with many families praising the staff, safety practices, and the environment. Recurring themes include compassionate, professional caregivers; strong communication and responsiveness from management; engaging activities; and a clean, comfortable facility with attractive outdoor spaces. Families frequently describe staff as attentive, caring, and like extended family, and many explicitly recommend the community.

Care quality and staff: Care quality is highlighted as a primary strength. Reviewers repeatedly mention knowledgeable nurses and caregivers, excellent medication management, and staff who are attentive to both clinical and emotional needs. Memory-care residents and their families report a compassionate, personalized approach; reviewers used words such as "partnership and trust," "empathy," and "valued and understood." Several accounts describe staff guiding families through transitions and providing hospice-level peace and support. The staff's communication is often singled out — quick responses, an open-door policy with accessible administrators, and clear guidance were common praise points.

Facilities and rooms: The physical environment receives favorable comments: clean, immaculately kept spaces, no unpleasant odors, bright rooms with large windows, and multiple courtyards/garden patios that residents use. Many reviewers like roomy private rooms with private baths, cozy common areas, a café, and cheerful activity spaces. A few reviewers noted the building is older and located on a busy street, which could mean some noise or age-related limitations. One minor convenience repeatedly mentioned was the lack of a mini-fridge in some rooms.

Activities, therapy, and rehabilitation: Elders Inn appears to offer a robust activities program and on-site therapy services. Reviews reference an organized monthly calendar with music programs (including visiting musicians), bingo, art activities, yoga, and other social offerings. On-site OT/PT and physical therapy/rehab capabilities are cited as valuable elements for recovery and ongoing wellness. Some reviewers described the lifestyle as simpler and quieter, which some residents prefer; others noted the activities are straightforward but meaningful.

Dining and cleanliness: Reviewers generally report good meals and healthy dining options. Cleanliness is a consistently positive point — multiple reviewers describe the facility as spotless and homey. The overall impression is of a facility that takes sanitation seriously and maintains pleasant common and private spaces.

Management, communication, and pandemic response: Management responsiveness is a frequently praised attribute. Many families describe administrators as accessible and responsive, and they value the frequent communication during critical times. During COVID-19, reviewers report strong, proactive safety measures: the facility managed lockdowns and visitation restrictions, provided iPads for Zoom calls, organized window visits, and prioritized resident health. While these restrictions were understandably difficult for families, many reviewers felt Elders Inn executed pandemic measures with compassion and kept residents safe.

Notable negative patterns and concerns: While most feedback is positive, a minority of reviews raise important concerns. A few families reported rude or disrespectful behavior (notably by at least one receptionist) and problems with phone communication. There is at least one serious report of a resident being asked to move out because staff felt the facility could not accommodate certain ambulatory or advanced dementia needs; this suggests occasional mismatches between some residents' needs and the community's capabilities. The community is described by some as small and “not organized,” and at least one reviewer described costs as high. The pet policy (dog not accepted) was a disadvantage for some families.

Overall assessment and advice for prospective families: Elders Inn presents as a well-run, family-owned community with a strong emphasis on compassionate caregiving, safety, and meaningful engagement for residents. It is especially praised for memory-care support, communication, and a warm, family-like culture. Prospective residents and families should visit to assess fit: check specific room amenities (e.g., mini-fridge), confirm accommodation capabilities for advanced ambulatory or dementia needs, ask about phone/administrative point-of-contact expectations, and clarify pet policies. Those seeking a clean, professional setting with attentive staff and good therapy/activities will likely find Elders Inn a strong option, while families with specialized behavioral or 24-hour ambulatory needs should verify appropriateness before committing.

    About Elders Inn

Elders Inn is a family-managed senior living community in a two-story building with 52 cozy and purposely designed suites for assisted living, care homes, and memory care. Residents can pick a studio or semi-private room, and everything is set up for comfort and accessibility, with wide halls and common areas for easy movement, even for those who use a wheelchair or need extra help. The staff, including a Resident Care Coordinator and dedicated aides, provide care around the clock and help with daily activities like bathing, dressing, medication management, and gentle reminders for meals. The community serves healthy meals every day, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner made to fit the residents' nutritional needs and tastes, and they have an in-house café where residents enjoy Peet's coffee and fresh baked snacks.

The Garden Neighborhood is a secure memory care area with a delayed egress system to reduce confusion and wandering for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's. It also has a private garden, daily room tidying, and 24/7 dedicated staff, and pets are allowed inside this part of the community. There's a full calendar of activities, outings, fitness classes, music, art, and special programs for both memory care and other residents, with activity programs designed for those who aren't as mobile so everyone finds something they like. The staff offer help with medication inventory, ordering, and taking prescribed medications, and there are twice-weekly showers, weekly housekeeping, linen changes, and two loads of personal laundry included for each resident.

Residents who need extra support, including those with early-stage dementia or Parkinson's disease, or people who use colostomy bags, get personalized care and attention. Therapies like physical, speech, and occupational therapy are available, with group classes and tailored exercises to help people recover from surgery or accidents. The small parking lot sits off Buena Vista across from 7/11 for visitors who drive. Elders Inn focuses on building a warm, friendly environment where people meet new friends, enjoy social events, and get visits from Friendly Visitors to help with feelings of loneliness or depression. Pets are welcome in certain areas, and the building includes sun-washed courtyards, private gardens, terraces, and Wi-Fi for residents' use. The goal at Elders Inn is to support every resident's well-being, independence, and sense of community in a comfortable, safe setting.
